QUOTE(Dude Oni Kabuto @ Jun 20 2012, 08:56 AM) Hmm as far I could udnerstand the 1.03 changes to Demon Hunter skills ; Not very sure how this 10 times single target work.Grenades : Stun Grenade - 25% Chance to Stun enemies for 1.5 seconds. Would this be applicable regardless of Difficulty? As in Inferno or Normal = Same? Also Caltrop Jagged Spikes now only stack 10 times on a single target would mean anything more then 10 caltrops where the enemy step on will not damage it? I may have understand it wrongly lol Maybe is like this: a DH hunter stand at the same spot and spam 10 caltrops at the same spot, so is like when a monster (elite or boss preferably 45% damage x 10 caltrops, plus 60% slow, assume a monster stucked for 2 sec to get out from the caltrops, means 450% x 2 sec = 900%. but spamming 10 caltrops need 60 disc, normal DH only have 35 disc, unless using "perfectionist" plus preparation. correct me if i am wrong. QUOTE(nightshade_nova @ Jun 20 2012, 09:36 AM) no la...the caltrops one is 1 trap only hit 10 times. Before this infinity until can proc stun/freeze/blind/fear You mean 1 trap can hit 10 targets whichever walked into it??After that the mob wont take dmg. I think 10 hits per trap is fair enuf. basically using caltrops is to save my butt and buy more times to stay away from monster. I am using caltrops to slow Diablo when he suddenly show up in front of me to avoid he catch up on me. |

QUOTE(DrLaboo @ Jun 20 2012, 09:48 AM) 10 hit max per target I think is fair enuf la, 10 hits per trap per mofo. before this unlimited la this means if u lay down the trap, then got 5 mofos rush into it, it will slow down the 5 mofos and each mofos will be hit 10 times.. if 100 mofos rush into ur trap also.. each one of the 100 mofos will be hit 10 times max.. then u GG lo before this unlimited Just another quote from snake: "patch changed, game's play change" no big deal. |

QUOTE(Cw_Huan89 @ Jun 21 2012, 10:08 AM) Hey fellow DHs, what skill is recommended to beat Belial Inferno since NT was already nerfed? any skills. any arrow. as long as u can avoid his 3 types of attacks. Feel like going to try soloing it tonight, I'll seek for help if I can't. especially the green bombs. if u want high dmg, try impale + grievous wounds (250% + 100% crt hit). Remember to summon batman!!! |

QUOTE(GameFr3ak @ Jun 21 2012, 10:28 AM) well, i have not try before. cos too costly - 50 hatred. for normal - hell (before 1.0.3) , just avoid those attacks, and we will be save. I was done belial in hell by not getting any of his green bombs. any skills won't matter so much. now with 1.0.3, knowing Belial will enrage after the fixed time (2mins?), not sure still can survive or not. Main key to kill Belial: avoid his 3 major attacks and don't get greedy. |

QUOTE(Unomi @ Jun 22 2012, 10:00 PM) I am not very sure about that. High dps is like a 2 sided blades, especially when u encounter elite packs with damage reflects. Simply becos all the damage u did on the packs eventually gonna hit u back. One critical hit to the elite might cos u 1/3 of yr vital (depends on yr vit stat). Have to very be careful on yr vit. I hate those damage reflects, just only spam caltrops, if 3 elites walk over, they got hit, i can see my vit dropping at least 25% and my dps (22k with SS) is not high. If you have very high dps, make yr vit can tahan those damage reflects. |

QUOTE(ChcGamer @ Jun 23 2012, 11:18 AM) If you have high AR and Vit, you can basically Shadow Power+Gloom to tank through Reflect Damage or even just stand still and tank a lot of stuffs agree. Sadly, i dont have as its too expensive for me to change my whole set of gear In D world is hard to get all high stats. If got so, first, u have to be come "Bill Gates" in D world. Gold is all the solution (if u r same as I will not spend a single penny is RMAH). |

QUOTE(nightshade_nova @ Jun 23 2012, 12:13 PM) Wow your holy bow already almost perfect with crit dmg and loh. Just curios, when wielded with these 2 weapons, how much is the dps?Mine [attachmentid=2909078][attachmentid=2909079] Both are sniped for 2mil each, with the help of proxy bidding. Now everyone knows about it, cant even snipe a thing. Your dps ok la, mine is worst 40k only.Dont even have the luxury to choose other stats cos my dex is damn low due to my tanky build, so minimum need at least 100 dex on each bow. |

QUOTE(UltramanMiruku @ Jun 25 2012, 01:02 AM) if u solo, since act 3 is full of mobs, i would suggest crow companion (generate hatred), multishot/fan of knives, caltrops, stampede vengeance (good to push away mobs) Dude, regen hatred is BATMAN la. combination of fan of knives n caltrops (jagged spike) helps to dmg mobs that comes near u n these skill sets uses both hatred n discipline so u can switch between to play with this is how i played for solo-ing |

QUOTE(KahVII @ Jun 26 2012, 04:21 AM) My dilemma now is against reflect damages elites. I'm forced to "waste" a skill slot on Shadow Power so that I can go against them. Having a life steal weapon is not enough as well so I have to squeeze SP in. Thoughts for you guys who don't use SP and what to do when you're facing reflectors? Changing skills is out of the question since it would cancel the NV stacks :/ Yea, reflect damage is kinda pain in butt for from the inferno elites.Very contradict when come to hit them with all the super high dps bows, cos eventually all the damages is going to hunt us back. More high dps = more reflect damage to us, unless the health is high enough to absorb those damages. Added on June 26, 2012, 8:54 am QUOTE(Lawolfe @ Jun 26 2012, 07:51 AM) You can slowly kite and chip their life away but it takes some time, rather than SP which could solve things alot faster. What I do is depend on caltrops and occasionally spike traps for the main damage, slowly kite them, drink pots/hunt for health globes. You can use Smokescreen occasionally to keep yourself immune from reflect damage for a while as well. I was once died from the reflect damages by constantly spammed 3 caltrops along the way, 4 elites with jalan passing the "caltrops road" all damages are X4!!! hahaha...can see my health drained til gone like in 2-3 sec.I'm not very sure about this, but resistance/armor might play a role in reducing the damage reflect as well. I remember once draining about 60% of my hp from the damage reflect of the 3 spike traps I put Added on June 26, 2012, 8:57 am QUOTE(Lawolfe @ Jun 26 2012, 01:45 AM) OK since many DH nowadays and curious in the ways of kiting, I'll share some tip on how to survive with a DH and against elites. I'll try to keep everything in point form to avoid tl;dr and put everyone to sleep. Some pointers are pretty obvious and I don't really to explain, but I'll put them down anyway. Thank you for the sharing, it is very helpful. Good Pointers For Kiting Keep Your Distance - As a DH, you have good excuse to chicken out and hide behind someone else back. - DH aren't natural damage tankers so try your best NOT to get hit. Some monsters to massive damage in one blow, thus keep a lookout and run like hell if someone gets to close. - Keep a good distance between you and the creeps (about 30% away from you to the edge of the screen) to be safe. Don't wait for the creeps to walk infront of your DH then only run. That will be too late. Endless Loops - If you're kiting some elites or really difficult creeps to kill, try do a quick check on the areas (in the minimap) you haven't explore to avoid stumbling upon more creeps - Try to find loops (e.g. mountains, rooms) so you got space to run around while you slowly pilfer their health. - Usually corners are ideal places to shoot/place traps and good for avoiding mortar damage/vortex Don't Stand In The Fire! - Try not to be stationary for more than 3 seconds unless there is someone helping you to tank. - Manually dodge around arrows/fireballs How Do I Fight Against... Mortar? Usually the elites will target where you are currently standing, so you need to be mobile and don't run around in circles. If you see a mortar elite, the easiest way to kill them is shoot 2-3 bolts and run, caltrops, shoot, run, repeat. You have to really pay attention to those fireballs and estimate where they will land. Frozen? Frozen AOE isn't very big and is often scattered (unless in narrow caves), so it takes a while to estimate its AOE. If you feel surround and no safe zones to stand, estimate about 3-4 seconds since the spell has been cast and then use Smokescreen, that will keep you alive. Vortex? Keep really good distance away from the elites (maybe at the edge of the screen) or run around corners in the room/mountains there's something blocking you from being sucked to the elites. If at anytime you go unlucky, just spam Smokescreen to bail yourself out. Waller? I usually find that been stationary for long time will contribute high chance to be cornered by the walls. If you run around, the walls arrangement won't be so nicely done and you might find some small holes to escape. If you got cornered, either wait till they're pretty close then Shadow Power(Gloom) + NT or Smokescreen or Elemental Arrow(Screaming Skull) to buy you some time before the walls crumble. What Skills Should I Use? Elemental Arrow(Screaming Skull) - I find this very useful to push them back a little and buy me some time to shoot few more bolts before I run Shadow Power(Gloom) - Gives you about 3 seconds to feel like a tanker. Best make use to it and drain a good portion of their health Smokescreen - I personally chose this over Vault since I often got into trouble by vaulting the wrong direction rather than to safety. This goes well with Tactical Advantage. Also best if you can choose either Smokescreen or Vault and not both since I don't find it worth it to have more than 1 escape skill. Evasive Fire - Useful tool to keep distance between you and the creeps, and also generates good portion of hatred, however it consumes 4 discipline per backflip, thus I usually pair this with Tactical Advantage, backflip once and then use the speed boost to run to safety and shoot again. Caltrops - meh.. you should know better, so I'm not writing any more for this. One Last Thing... Practice makes perfect. Not every DH is talented at kiting. Have some patience and always focus your attention on the creeps/elites, learn their movements and avoid their attacks. Currently I'm using: - Hungering Arrow(Spray Of Teeth) - Elemental Arrow(Screaming Skull) - Caltrops(Jagged Spikes) - Smokescreen(Lingering Fog) - Spike Traps(Scatter) - Preparation(Backup Plan) ..and so far I have not much problem with most elites except Invulnerable which I feel rather difficult to hit the boss with his minions running around and shielding him from attacks, and it takes too much time so I rather skip them. This is only my opinion and my way of kiting so any other DH feel free to add theirs as well. ..wow in the end it turned up pretty much tl;dr. Most of the times, i have no prob for kiting inferno elites, i personal feel it is very location oriented, small area, very hard to kite.
