Just heavy int invest and you should be fine with wiz in normal at least for not, never use a pot before so far.....

What is your playstyle? Tanker?
I am a kiter and do hydra / blizzard run always, i got around500 res all, 18k hp, 4500def and 20k dps, but i also add in 600 hp per sec, with galvanizing, my hp heal like i got globe health on all the time...sure i got hit hard too, sometime one hit kill if not careful, but if you kite efffectively, you are not going to die that easily.

Tried this, pretty successful, but item intense and weak against certain elite/champion

I got a better ver which works much better..... with less item intense....

I been playing melee since inferno, tanking almost act 1

Here the combo
MOuse left : Spectral blade - deep cut
MOuse RIght : Meteor - reduce AP
1 - Diamond SKin - Increase absorb
2- FrostNova - Reduce Cooldown
3 - Hydra - Poison
4 - Energy Armor - Increase All Res

Passive
1. Critical mass
2. Astral
3. Reduce cooldown

See mobs/boss, cast diamond skin, run up, hold right click, spam inbetween frost nova or diamond skin whenever possible.

Stat to look out
At least 25% Critical Chance
At least 600 HP per hit
At least 15 AP gain per critical hit to ensure continuous stream of meteor
At least 20k hp, 15k dps, 600 all res and 6000 armor.

You wont be killing every elite or boss, but most are managable, need lot of button spamming and microing depending on bosses

You can try the melee built if you want, good against the above beside fire chain and frozen/arcane. But you may need a different set of item from what you may have now as a kiting wizard.

Another advice is, try park the elite/blue if you really cant go pass them. THe old words say, if you cant beat them, avoid them

Effective way to park is DS and FN

Wiz is kiter or melee, that all, but i felt kiter gear is much cheaper than tanker

It take long but after the initial meteor down, it keep coming without downtime and if you have at least 20 Arcane power gain per critical hit, you will get almost unlimited meteor to spam

Bro i have less spec of def than you and i made barb cry as tanking machine....

You many need to add the following into you gear
Crit chance = 20% should be ideal to start
LOH = 500 should be sufficient. the more the better
AP on crit = about 10 should be good

And use wick wind = its proc the crit very well, making your Frozen nova and DS always up against anyboss, i can guarantee you that you can tank most of elite up to act 2 which is good enough for farming....

Weakest point of D3, is not worth at all farming for boss, go for the elite

I am playing this built and is kinda OP, not sure how they going to nerf it but i am almost confirmed that they will going to do something about it which is suk... cause it would just force wiz to go back to kiting....

Just use LOH for this built, 600 will work like a charm at act 1 or 2
