Guys, i got a very newbie question to ask..

There's a time where i got an Rare amulet. And I myself already equipped with one.

When i compare the stats,

Amulet A (the one i found): has higher intelligence than Amulet B (the one I'm wearing)

Amulet B (the one I'm wearing): Has lower intelligence but adds 3-6 damage.

So when I try equip them. I noticed that if I wear:

Amulet A: my % of damage increased due to intelligence is drastically larger. % is say 800%. But damage (shown on the inventory is say 400+)

Amulet B: my % of damage increased is lower. % is say 750%. But damage shown on the inventory window is larger.. say 500+

So which one is the right way? Should i focus entirely on the intelligence itself which can boost the % or focus on increasing the Damage figure on the inventory window?

please advise

Thats why i noticed. My % incrased due to intelligence bonus is at 800%. However damage only 470. When I equipped the other amulet, % increased is at 740%. But damage is at 500+. So this lets me thinking.

I'm at level 35 in nightmare by the way.. is this too weak? blush.gif hmm.gif

Thats the thing. I "thought" my items are decent enough but apparently not. Normal creatures have to whack 4-6 times but elite creatures have to whack my ass..

Remember the few elite lembus at the Nightmare's 1st act at the fields trying to look for the Den? Well they ripped my ass off sweat.gif shocking.gif rclxub.gif cry.gif

As a WD, what is the "standard" intelligence bonus that we should hunt for in our items? Anything that +intelligence by 50 and above? Is that enough?

If that is the case, what are the attributes that the WD should look out for when hunting items or buying from auction house? What are the items that besides intelligence, we can look out for? Dexterity? Strength? or Damage bonus in that Item itself? (e.g. 16-24 cold damage)?

Damage stat is more important. Give you two examples.

Case 1, you equip a damn low dmg weapon with huge INT stats
Base Damage (from weapon, etc) = 100
Damage Increased due to Intelligence 1000%
New Damage = 1,100

Case 2, you equip a damn high dmg weapon with lousy INT stats
Base Damage (from weapon, etc) = 2,000
Damage Increased due to Intellignce = 10%
New Damage = 2,200

hmm.. u got a point there hmm.gif In fact my dagger is really at 94 damage only... How the heck find one dagger that can do more damage sweat.gif I thought my dagger was cool enough giving +97 intelligence sweat.gif

I doubt I can last long with the current setup at Act 1 Nightmare with just a tiny 500+. Like garu garu on Butcher later.. sad.gif

Yes, one of my worries is that I go dump money buying stuffs in AH then end up I've grown out of the items soon.

I'm now a confused soul.. I dont know how to invest/decide on my Skills now.

Character: 46 Witch Doctor
Level: Nightmare
Quest: 1 step before Belial
HP: 12.4k
DPS: 2.84k
Mana: 720
Tanker: Templar + Gargantuan

My Skills Built: MY SKILLS LIKE HERE

I'm unsure on how to proceed further on what are the best way to actually invest on my skills. Are they optimal?

What i do is, when i farm, I run into the bunch of enemies right in between firing line, Use the combo: Grasp + Houl Harvest, then get out of the firing line and start shooting firebombs while occasionally summon Haunt (Resentful Spirit) and Acid Rain (Slow Burn).

Until now, I thought for EACH skillset, the Runes actually STACKS on top of the skill itself. But is this correct? Or the rune actually REPLACES the skill characteristic?

Besides that from the D3 Forums, it seems people are investing on Vision Quest and also Poison Darts. Are they better? I tried but doesnt seem ok for me sad.gif

Seeking advice from all sifu WDs notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Thanks bro for the great input.. notworthy.gif

But again.. does the Runes actually STACK on top of the skill's characteristics? or it Replaces them?

I was abit hesitant on Hex because I was unsure hex can actually turn those elites into chickens or not biggrin.gif tongue.gif

thanks for sharing biggrin.gif

I've just tried this setup just now with some slight tweak

Primary: Firebombs instead of poison darts
Secondary: Acid Rain/Cloud instead of Zombie Bears (not up to level yet)

1: Voodoo
2: Soul Harvest
3: Fetish Army
4: Gargantuan

What i tried is when i meet a bunch of enemies, rush in, Soul Harvest + Fetish Army. Then plant a voodoo inside so that the area affected my allies and myself (and hopefully my creatures) will gain attack bonus.

However, I noticed that with this, the Voodoo and Fetish army is at cooling period but u are by now in the 2nd round of combat with another bunch of creatures. Nothing much i can do as their cooldown is 2 mins but my fetish army already gone by now. Should i put vision quest inside?

Last time i focus too much on intelligence. But weapon base damage itself is weak. Try get better weapon and u'll notice that ur intelligence bonus will bump up the stats eventually quite abit.

What base dmg of ur dagger/knife are u having now? i got 3 "retired" knives. If u wan sell to u biggrin.gif

Past few days, I've been changing my gear setup. Spent quite a bit..

Last time too focused on intelligence/damage/vitality. Until around 6k+ dps with 22k life. But realised its like a damn toufu.. 2-3 hits or kena jailed/walled by elites in Hell, then GG for sure..

So now, toned down my damage to around 5.9k and vitality to around 21k only. But bumped up physical and element resistance to around 200+ each. When i hover over the stats its around 44-49% resistance. Do u guys think its enough? I'm at Lvl 54 Hell here.

What are u guys' strategy? Glass cannon or all rounder to survive better in Hell/Inferno?

Yesterday had my fair share of these... Found some elites.. whack but tried to run away and u know what they did?

They JAILED me first.. Then summon arcane damage and sliced me like tofu... Just 2 spins of the arcane and i'm GG already sweat.gif rclxub.gif
