I agree to a certain extent, but you have to consider that Mojo can provide very high added damage output and alot more boost to stats if you have a solid 1-hander.

I'm using a 1-hander + shield combo. Build around balance INT + VIT and HP on Hit, I can tank creeps better than most barbs, especially if you play with the 4 skill cooldown = 300% mana regen passive. Play with Big Bad Voodoo and Soul Harvest for increase damage + attack speed bonus, as well as some awesome heals.
