i tried solo.. .. act 1 from... khanz staff .. until .... butcher..
die few times ... skip one of the elite.. i think.. one of the elite with immune ability... ... kenot tahan
the rest manageable.. butcher 3rd try only win with proper buff and skill ..

i tried coop.... i need a barbi war cry buff and stun skill and some dps-er (HD/ Wiz) to deal massive damage.. and change my skill to full tank mode (also with dual-wield..)...only can tank and survive..

im having my shield and few lvl60 items, so far so good la not yet go inferno act 2 so not sure whether can survive there or not, act 1 just started first few quest only breezing through lol.. if can i opt not to use shield, looks better in dual weapon

I was a duel wielder too. They key to duel wielding is to have around 40k hp, about 1.9 attack speed, and 400 life on hit. But you have to find the right weapon to duel wield.

Prefer holding shield. LOL. More defence. Plus dual wielding wont much much of a difference as off-hand's weapon DPS wont give the full 100% DPS. Might as well hold shield for higher def and hopefully get resistance shield to help boost resistance.

IMO.

40k hp - me now... 33k + earth ally = 36k hp = almost there..
1.9atkspd - 2.18 .. should be ok atm..
400 life on hit - me now langsung x dak..

u hv a point there but dont u think that a monk with a shield has no difference than the former D2 paladin?

thats the ting ... i duwan hold shield becoz i duwan them looks like a templar.. / paladin.. LoL

actually i never hold a shield after lvl 10..
i want to know the atk speed if holding a shield...

if not mistaken.. dual-wielding will get xtra 15% atkspeed (which means.. x tra damage also) right? (correct me if i am wrong)

Duel wield can get you faster Spirit regen since you received addtional aspd increase by 15%.

The weapon is all that matters. Off-hand must always have the highest base damage and the difference between both hand dps cannot be more then 15% different or else you're better of with a shield.

Duel wield is fun, but you really need to use your understanding of all this mechanism to take advantage out of it.

for act1 i go all dual wield dps and it is pretty much easy...
butcher can die within 30sec usually lol...

the thing which made dual wield possible in act1 is life on hit...

thus if ur OH is bad, half of ur damage is from ur OH damage which is well bad...
for me, i dual wield jz for the increased life on hit...
my dps spec only have 20k hp but i have around 900 life on hit thus i can survive lolx

What can you comment on a lvl 44+ NM Act 2 build with 12k health, 1.5k armor, 200+ resistant & 1k dps? I am still far from Inferno so basing on my current progress Can I get far?

How u guys get to so high dps? What's the weapon damage u guys had? Now I am just progress into 120dmg per hand (offhand another dagger with 107dmg)

huh so meaning higher dps weapon should be equipped on off-hand? not main hand? lol im so confused now..

I will, now is beyond my level. In fact I bought some dmg 200+ suitable for lvl 50ish. Cheap only a few hundreds bucks nia, and with good stats also (+15x dex & +8x vit).

saw a youtube video that someone posted earlier, this guy says that: "if someone ask a monk to shield up, ask him to get lost as he's talking crap" hahaha.. so this guy was using a Daibo and farming through inferno..

from my experience, when u starts to feel that u'r not killing off the mobs fast enuf, or that the mobs is sucking ur hp, then its time to change ur gear i wasted too much money from changing gears every 5 lvl when its not really necessary and of coz not cost efficient.. so save ur money, once u think that u'r not fast enuf, time to change

Totally agree, get those which will last you every 10 lvl rather then changing every 5. lvl 51 will be your jump level damage as most dmg item and eq which is better requires level 51.

So lvl 51 buy gears that will last you till 60, then change once again at 60 ( ultimate weapon ).

For Monk, the demands are low for 1K DPS weapon as its DAMN EXP, where else for DH is like everywhere and much cheaper. :-(

You could dual wielding if your armors and eq is good enough to block everything and help out, im holding shield now as i cant find any good 1h weapons. :-(
