Also Soccernet has reported the following:
"Fenway Sports Group's 'long list' of ten candidates does include older managers, and former England boss Fabio Capello, 65, may be sounded out. Rafael Benitez is not on that list "for the time being" but he might eventually be included, if some of the prime candidates fall by the wayside, and it is ESPN's understanding that he has registered his interest in the post."

Oh man not this crap again. Why can't you just give Rafa credit where it's due. For all I know Houlier did not win the CL in his last year using his own player. And yet when Rafa somehow mysteriously managed to win it using Houlier's player, suddenly credit goes to Houlier.

Just give credit to him and move on. It is that simple.
Would u have him bak?
Only if he wants to come back. Well he did say he didn't know where he belonged. I will tell him that he belongs to LFC. His mentor is Rafa and he has unfinished business and project with Suarez. biggrin.gif

Hi rafe I have a question which is off the topic ... I became the fan of liverpool ever since i witnessed a special brand of football livepool played under you especially after the arrival of fernando torres.... you changed the system from 442 >451 then liverpool had most of possession /1 touch movements/ played the ball with speed everything was perfect on the way suddenly a change on your mind ...... what's made you more special for barry than alonso........?

Response:

Hello, we were playing 1-4-2-3-1 it depends of the movements of the wingers. Barry is a good international english player, good professional and can play in three positions. Good for the team and good for the future and good for the club. Alonso submit a transfer request. Thanks.

That is interesting. The response is quite brief but what I can make from it is that Rafa wanted to add Barry and at the same time wanted to keep Alonso. Maybe Alonso felt that he won't be first choice with the arrival of Barry hence requested for transfer.

i came across this on some web,

"Many have been signing petitions to bring Rafa back, others are signing petitions not to bring Rafa back while some are signing petitions not to make Martinez Gaffer.

And someone went as far as Tweeting US President Barack Obama asking him for help!!!!

@BarackObama Get Rafa Benitez the Liverpool job and youv’e definitely got my vote in the US Election! Fair Deal??

WTF is Obama going to do?

Come on Reds, take a deep breathe and chill."
Roberto Martinez is closing in on the Liverpool job and is reported to be in the US holding more talks with the Reds owners.

The Latics boss was due to fly out on holiday to Barbados but now it is being claimed he is in fact in Boston, Massachusetts, the home of Fenway Sports Group.
Liverpool fans want former boss Rafa Benitez back but the Reds' principal owner, John Henry, has other ideas and it is another Spaniard, Martinez, he wants at the helm.
Martinez turned down Aston Villa last summer but he would jump at the chance to manage Liverpool and if he is offered the job he will leave the DW Stadium with Dave Whelan's blessing.
Whelan himself has yet to comment on all the rumours, which suggests there is definitely something in them as he has been quick to deny previous stories linking his manager with a move away.
The bookies have also made Martinez the short-priced favourite and Latics could soon be looking for a new manager themselves with Blackpool's Ian Holloway already being mentioned as a possible successor.

Don't mind to have him cause I have good feeling about him. My only concern is his lacking of experience managing a big club. He better has a very good plan to present to John Henry.

Within minutes of driving through the gates of the Liverpool training ground, Rodgers asked to be directed towards the canteen where he introduced himself to the kitchen staff and took possession of a cup of tea.

"I'd love a cup of tea, just a little bit of sugar," he asked. "You'll find I drink a lot of tea when I'm here!"

To get into the spirit I shall drink more tea from now on. tongue.gif Message to our manager: wait till you try teh tarik! rclxms.gif
