Harry Redknapp has emerged as a shock target to become Liverpool’s new manager. Standard Sport understands that the Merseyside club are considering making a move for the 65-year-old having sacked Kenny Dalglish last week.
Redknapp is believed to have shot up their wish-list after Frank de Boer, Jurgen Klopp, Didier Deschamps and Brendan Rodgers ruled themselves out of the running.
Liverpool still have some candidates interested in the job, including former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, ex-England boss Fabio Capello, Wigan coach Roberto Martinez as well as former Reds manager Rafael Benitez.

That so called fat Spaniard won Champions League with Liverpool and that's probably the greatest glory achieved by the club you would ever witness in the past 20 yrs.

I think the man deserves a little more respect so to speak.
*
Yes, we last won the CL cup under Rafa but those were not his men, it was from the previous Manager core players and the win was actually mastered by non other than StevieG........

Yes, i knoe a lot of you guys still like him, i too liked him in the beginning, but fell out after he sold Alonso.

Pls dun bring back the "why Rafa have to sell Alonso story" Rafa also brought a lot of players that did not make the mark, if not he would not have been sacked. Maybe i shall say that Torres and Lucas was his best buy after Alonso.

Mascherano? Agger? Skrtel (our player of the season)? Reina?

they were good but not the class of Alonso and Gerrard.

btw, i am a Liverpool fan since Std 6 and i watched our team lifted the European Cup during the Rush Era......

i am not disrespect to Rafa and i never called him a fat waiter, just fat Spainard

this is a public forum, you can say anything you dislike about me, as i knoe the rules of public forum....

i just wan to state my mind......

lets hope Martinez can bring us back to Top 4

btw, ManU Players are Top Class, i love to see them attack, more so seeing SAF scolding its players but its fans in LYN are No Class

Martinez, if agree to take this Job, dun need to win the BPL cup in one or two seasons.

He just need to guide us back to top four and win the dressing room and recall some players.

FSG will give him a span of 5 Years to bring home the Cup.

i doubt 5 years. Realistically, he has 2 seasons, or, the way i look at it, 1 and a half.

They were only able to 'tolerate' 1 and a half season with Kenny Dalglish. if they are sure to give 5, then might as well give it to Rafa. He was the guy that brought in the rafalution. and it has worked for us. the effect is permeating.
*
Sincerely, with a budget of 30million for next season, winning the BPL Crown in 2 seasons will be a very big expectation.... sweat.gif

30 million is not enough IMO. Wish we had a lot of money like Chelsea and City sad.gif

maybe 5 seasons and a 100mil/ season might work but a top 4 finish in the 2nd season onwards could be achiveable if Martinez is given a free hand in ANY matters related to Football

Welcome on board BR.

Just a top 4 finish next season will be good.

Recapture the Carling Cup and have another shot at the FA Cup would be a boost.

So long its not Rafa, we should have exiting times ahead and hopefully FSG will support this latest sign up.

Brenden the Prince , a nice phrase........ smile.gif

Hope it wont turn out into "Brenden Fraser" and mummyfied us, best remembered for the 3 Mummy flims biggrin.gif

As fate would have it, Rodgers' last game in charge was Swansea's 1-0 victory against Liverpool on the last day of the season.

you might be surprised if BR can get us back to Championship contenders by season ends............

we actually have the quality but the finishes and the loaning of a few Midfielders and the exclusion of Lucas and Suarez made us bad, yes one more thing, the woodwork was our biggest enemy last season......

sincerely we were not that bad actually.......

i wan back Pacheco, Aqualiani , Joe Cole and LUCAS

Puzzling how on one hand you slam Kenny and on the other you admit we were actually pretty decent and were unlucky to have hit the woodwork as many times as we did.

KD is too soft, even you are harder to my postings

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Jun 2 2012, 11:22 PM)
Pretty good formation.
Put Suarez on the left and Gerrard on the right.
As for central midfielder, let Aquilani and Henderson do the job.

We will have Adam, Downing, J.Cole as bench players.
IMO, Kelly can play as central defender & right back.
Assuming Kuyt and Maxi are living, we need to sign a striker, a defensive midfielder and winger (who can play both right and left side).
*
If we dun sign any new players, Maxis and Kuyt will definately feature in BR's team.

We need both of them, one a good passer/mover/positioner and another a work horse

our Left Flank is solved with Sterling/Maxi and our Right Flank is helped by Kuyt/Johnson.

we will do good with this current line up, trust me Aqua will have a place in our them under BR
