And remember, do not directly flash to a custom ROM on top of it. Someone on XDA bricked his phone that way.

That guy mess around with CWM... he keep flashing rom while on CWM with out reboot.

done restart and shut down/pull battery/turn on still can't get it to paste into System/apps folder.  rclxub.gif

could it be that i am using the stock German ICS which is not deodexed?  sweat.gif
*
im using German ICS ODEX (LPY+CF-Root) with no problem with google play. 1st time yes. Just reboot and lets it get updated at the backgound...

May be you need to
1. remove google account (setting > account and sync)
2. run google play and login your google acct

Note:
Do not use it immediately. Lets it sync at the background your acct first.

This is my German ICS installation process http://jjpda.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-i...s-403-root.html

Is your device still running smoothly? is it because of apps running in background? everytime i clear ram thr are 25 apps running in background.. sweat.gif
*
I removed all the widgets on the home screen. I have Smooth Calender and MySolat widget only. The rest buttons in 2 home page.

Next FREEZING unwanted apps....

So yours also seem smooth after flashing the rom but after the apps are restored, it started to be not as smooth as few moments ago right?
*
Depend on whats app you restored. I tried to reduce apps running at the background

Setting > Applications > Running

Check out there. Removed/Freeze the unwanted services/apps using Titanium backup

yes..hahaha..seem CF-ROOT-LPF KERNEL didt work well with LPF rom..but work well on LPY rom.. sweat.gif
*
No point loading cf-root since you already hv cwm+root on the early steps. I dont load cf-root either.

http://jjpda.blogspot.com/2012/05/how-to-r...cs-403.html?m=1

People using cf-root if they load kernel with mobile odin to preserve root.

Since this involved new bootloader, would be nice to load via pc odin. Fresh installation just like factory release smile.gif

the cwm.zip is just something temporary like you wanna flash some mod, you need to follow from steps 2 to steps 5, then only the cwm recovery will appear, but will not appear inside android apps like before.
*
You hv to be clear. Cwm can be access via:
1. Volumne up+home+power
2. CWM apk

It something like, if you dont have superuser icon doesnt mean you are not rooted. But if you fail to run superuser means you are not rooted smile.gif

Problem with wifi occurs on the LPF ROM due to combination of CF LPF Root kernel and LPF ROM. Seems like they don't get together well.

However, you may try to root using Dr. Ketan's method without flashing CF LPF's kernel.
*
Yes. Base on my reading on xda. Flasing lpf without cf-root is the best.
Developer havent get source code from samsung to give us custom kernel.

Flashed via Mobile Odin - CF LPF root kernel is just to install CWM.

Run CWM app CWM not start? Only Gear icon on top and CWM word??
*
WARNING! Do not flash using mobile odin and cf-root. You might brick your phone. Just follow my blog to load LPF and root. DO NOT load CF-Root.

Read here for detail http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hard...ed-ics-kernels/
