I think the distance to LRT stations are about the same for both Skypod and SW, probably SW is even nearer.
*
Distance aside, connectivity is very important too to to walk. SW have sheltered bridge so you can get down from the station and walk to your doorstep regardless of the weather. +1 advantage here.

QUOTE(ah_chung @ May 18 2012, 03:12 PM)
seconded. i personally prefer SkyPod's 881sf over SW's 845sf, but bullets out already  icon_question.gif and >RM500 psf is quite expensive, but i think it still has the room to grow as the area is considered as the golden area in puchong.
not to forget that SkyPod is also located at a walking distance to IOI mall, business park, and shop lots, not to say the retail outlets inside the SkyPod...

again like twin-gor said, slightly different target market...
*
It's always something which i have in mind: Walking distance doesn't mean anything without proper connectivity. Connectivity as in you can walk from Point A to Point B in sun or rain without any problem. SW has an advantage over Skypod in this. My2c.

SW may build a covered pedestrian bridge to the under con LRT opposite. Can Skypod do that? The distance shud be 150m across which I think it highly possible. What you guys think?
*
150m? From Google Earth, I measured the distance from the entrance of Persiaran Puchong Jaya Selatan to ST06 is >400m. So if from Skypod it's definitely >500m.

Any planning to build a pedestrian bridge to cross the main road to coming LRT station?
*
user posted image

Straight line distance from the entrance to Persiaran Puchong Jaya to centrepoint of ST06 is about 500m. That's excluding the distance from the road entrance to Skypod and crossing LDP. All in give or take app. 800m. Not exactly near by still walkable.

Do you happen to know the walking distance from Setiawalk to its LRT station?
*
user posted image

Setiawalk itself is big, end to end from Solace to Vio is almost 300m. The distance from the covered pedestrian bridge which has been built to ST07 is 100m (just cross LDP). Not sure if you want to consider the distance from Solace/ Brio/ Vio lobby to the bridge as these are covered all the way and within SW environment, walking here shouldnt be a prob at all. Worse case scenario, from Solace to ST07 it wouldn't be more than 500m. Ok, back to Skypod before got shoot further tongue.gif

Maybe he want to say that the concept is the same as Sutramas i.e. Tower 1 with a giant void at the centre. But I'm 100% it won't look as the pics, those are horrendous! Tower 2 looks better as the lifts are at the core, thus you won't see such a huge void/core.

I think bro ace doesn't mean that using Sutramas Apartment to compare with Skypod for all the materials or same concept or design.

Probably he found out that Skypod designs look alike or a bit face lift from the Sutramas Apartment which built by coincidentally, IOI and it looked horrible.

I think it's all from different aspects in terms of comparing, esp an old apartment against exp condo which is yet to be build, but make sure we look at it at healthy way.
*
The structural design (with the giant void at the core) has been fixed, therefore can't be changed. But of course for Skypod the corridors will be tiled, with plaster ceilings, exposed pipes concealed, and brighter environment. Lets just hope something can be done to screen the view into the void to minimize the "apartment-ish" feel.

The void space is there to give the rooms some outside air. Do people generally feel that void spaces will be an eye sore and it is apartment-ish ? And seriously, what can be done about it ? Without changing the layout and design, almost nothing can be done about it !
*
That's why i said, nothing can be changed. But some smart IDs can be done, eg. using screens at strategic places of the railing, etc. But since you mentioned there's nothing wrong with it, then it's alright too. It's just my personal opinion smile.gif From my short experience in this forum, ppl generally dislike rooms facing air wells (the so-called dark rooms), and here you have air wells as well as a giant one for the building!

QUOTE(kochin @ Aug 22 2012, 10:29 PM)
seriously i do not know of a good corridor design and hoping you can enlightened me a bit.
the typical corridors that i'd come across are mostly hotel corridor concept. door to door facing.
the more innovative type would be a spider or butterfly design that mutated from the door to door facing concept. this is akin to something like mk aman corridor.
then there's the 1 sided corridor similiar to covillea. this may apply to l-shaped building and to some extent u-shaped building.
then there's the void concept. void concept have 2 types. big void or small void. think shang villa also have this type of design.

so ace77 boss, please share your kung fu with me on what constitute a good corridor design.
again am not aware that design is govern by pricing of the product. learn something new today.
thanks in advance.
*
For me, the ideal design is centralized lift core, with centralized a/c corridor, same as hotel style. No need to worry about flooding at corridor due to rain too. But maintenance fee will be very high then.

It would be true if the air wells are dark. Nobody likes to face the dark spaces. So I guess a quick fix could be fixing sufficient lighting at those locations.

And please put yellow lights there, people would associate yellow light with warm and 'gold'. Kekeke.
*
Lol... good suggestion!

As Promised I have create a FB group for owners share info about SkyPod.

As i know there is a SkyPod page which is control by IoI.

This group is control by me.

Maybe in there we can have more valid discussion about the property..

This can be search in the FB link :SkyPod Residences, Puchong Jaya

or here is the link:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/490251224338299/

Do let me know, if you guys cant find in. I do hope to gather as much owners as possible and make this group worth while communicating.

I will only add skypod onwers. Setia walk fansi.. u dont need to come in la..
*
No offence, but in a forum, of course you must expect ppl with different interests to provide different views on this project. Someone said something to this effect before in SW thread, if you want to hear only good things about Skypod, then you must put so in the title "Skypod Residences (good points only)" tongue.gif Anyway, have a great time in your FB page, it's good to gather the owners together for future communications with the developer after VP.

Good try, this is not the first time SW whatever get cross posted into other threads. Even saw that in Zefer Hill Residence thread before.
*
Haha, maybe overenthusiastic. There's always one or two in each thread, truthfully SW no need for promo d, the final product has spoken for itself now thumbup.gif .

Anyway regarding the LRT extension, there are some hiccups from ST06 onwards. Darn hope they can resolve this soon, if not we who are vested in this location will suffer vmad.gif
