wats ur priority? rain? track? touge? etc etc

ive never tried the re002...but currently running on T1R... good for normal daily drive... but for hard driving the sidewall is pretty soft.. and for track use... totally not suitable...

id recommend the RE002 either way

im not really a believer in the "made in where" thing when it comes to tires... coz if the formulation is the same... then it shouldnt be different now would it?

my experience was with the Falken Azenis ST115...ive tried BOTH made in japan and made in indonesia (manufacturing moved to indon after falken decided its EOL)...1 right after the other... absolutely no difference...

and the feedbacks ive heard so far about the re002 are all good...never tried it personally... my last experience with a potenza was with the RE711 which was 10 years ago...now that tire was good....not so good in the rain though...just acceptable

as for T1R, on track not much grip....understeering really bad and the rear was also dancing around. that and also the soft tire walls were flexing like mad....tire felt like it wanted to pop out of the rims on alot of the corners...

ive never really pushed it on public roads, coz my balls are not made of titanium...

but ive done 140km/h on highway during a heavy rain and it felt planted.

currently using 195/55/15

currently using both tyre. Re002 isnt that gøod in wet. T1r better. But both tyre overprice. Both have pros and cons. If u re on 15, ps3 is better price for performance. U want grip for track get r1r or ku36.

Currently im on re002 front and rear.. 195/55/15... Seriously damn good dry grip tire.. Gets my vote every time...

But, the only thing is that, its sidewall relatively soft, but compare to similarly sized t1r, i wud say the re002 fares better because ived sample the ride on similarly sized t1r on my friends ride, same model with mine, n can feels the front moving alot more during hard cornering... But, maybe u pair with 17" and 40 profile will bring better feel..

N it sounds really loud, but if u are choosing between these 2 tires, im guessing u are ok with these kind of performance tyre roar...

Already use this re002 for 16k kms ++, n tire thread is around 70% left, n whats most important is that, the feel is 85-90% like during 1st 10k kms thumbup.gif

p/s; have u checked 205/40/17 how much per piece..??

Owh, 1more thing, the RE002 is either japan or thailand, not indonesia

R888 semi slick cannot compare with re002 and t1r, heck, even cannot be compare with the mighty re070.., Ofcourse it will bite the tarmac like cicak... But, once raining, sure cannot go any higher than 80-90kmh safely maybe.. N it surely wont last long icon_rolleyes.gif

i had 002 front t1r back. Now rotate t1r front 002 back. T1r have shorter brake distance. 002 have better dry grip. But i do feel 001 is better.

looks into Kumho KU36 and Federal 595 RSR as well

as for R888 those are semi slicks are by right are not street legal and as mentioned above.. very dangerous for wet weather driving.

haha.. i also have tried b4, high speed during heavy rain at highway (straight to singapore), using hangkook V8RS, even at 150-160km/h still stable (size is 205/45/16) but when change to 15' (195/55/15) n use PS3, becoz the sidewall really soft, the steadiness feeling gone when using 205/45/16.. cry.gif

001 better than 002  rclxub.gif

That's what i felt. everyone has their own preference when it comes to tyres. I feel re002 is more comfortable with great dry grip. but compare to my exp with re001 although it's not as comfortable the performance slightly better. but re002 will always be a good choice than t1r as it;s only loses in wet. Price of re002 slightly more. that;s about it.

tread wear rating aside, japan made tires wear out faster than sout east asia's made.
this is due to the different material to suit the respective weather / road condition.

conclusion : re002 which was designed to suit our road condition / weather is a better choice over the japan made t1r.

bro when u talking about specs difference u cant compare t1r with re002 different category. although certain size made in indonesia but bear in mind quality control is provided. t1r i have tried noisy tyre after 30% use. good in dry but wet is bad. for re002 although the price is much higher but u pay the quality cost and i can confirm you, you will like it.

Added on July 20, 2012, 5:20 pmToyo 888 is good on track. but very noisy tyres which is not suitable for road use. trust me the noise will kill you unless you have spare tyres for track and road use separate it.

Added on July 20, 2012, 5:21 pmmichelin ps2 or ps3 and bridgestone re002 is the best edi in this category. and bear in mind this 2 is the top and second tyre company in the world.

If re002 and ps3 is the best in this category, I will definitely get the re002 on my next tyre change. I'm currently using ps3...sidewall soft...

Toyo already has a newer product which is the T1S (Sport). Maybe that one is even better.
Anohter good option maybe is the Yokohama Advan Sport.
If want cheaper options maybe can go with GT Champiro HPY. I read in the ZTH forum there's already a review for it and seems very good value for the money.
