I am told there is no difference at any of the branches nation wide. That should be the case as the SCs are set up as Peugeot Blue Box. If a branch is unable to handle a particular issue on a car, then the team of floating experts is called in.

I have tried PJ and will now try Seremban branch for my 10K servive. Having said this,I understand many have been very satisfied at Balakong SC!

You don't need to worry, this engine is well built to handle those speeds for long spells. However our roads are not safe for those speeds, there's too much traffic. Road conditions are poor that you'll bouncing like a race horse!  I did get up to 180km/h on LEKAS hwy for almost the entire stretch, no problems at all. My engine is still ticking away like a Swiss watch!

With any turbo engine, the cooling down is extremely important. Idling the car for a few minutes is not a good cooling down after such prolonged high speed run. What you need to do is not go into boost and have air flow to the radiator, engine and turbo.

What you need to do is simply cruise at around 80 - 100 kph about 5 minutes . Usually that means after you got off the highway just drive sedately. The problem is if after the toll you encounter traffic jam where the traffic isn't moving. In such situation you are getting air flow merely from the radiator fan. And it is hot air coming from the exhaust of the traffic in front of you.

I suppose it also boils down to marketing. Just open up a newspaper or go to any website, you'd see adverts by both T&H just about everyday. On top of that, they really do have a number of service centers around the country that can be seen prominently. From personal experience, Toyota really does offer very good customer satisfaction when you send in your car for servicing, I only had 1 mediocre experience with them during my 7 year of Toyota ownership which speaks volume. It's the same with Honda, the overall experience is smooth. Most people whom I speak to are largely ignorant in regards to the engine or features of the car and those are the people who represent the silent majority who rely a lot on word of mouth and experience from parents & friends and no surprises, a lot of them hold T&H in very high regard.

At the moment, Peugeot or VW or any other marques will need to invest more into their service infrastructure and customer service if they hope to break stranglehold held by T&H. A huge marketing blitz is required as well to improve the perception of these marques in regards to reliability and resale value.

T&H&N has a lot of service center *around Malaysia*. The products are well know both my motorists and *mechanics*. The problem with Peugeot, Ford, Renault etc is that they do not have much presence outside of Klang Valley.

When people think about these Euro brands, they think about:

1. high spare parts price (some are high, some are similar to Japs)
2. problem with spare parts availability (a bit true for those outside Klang valley)
3. problem finding expert about these cars (very true outside Klang valley)

The solution, I dunno. It is like chicken-egg thing.

The best these Euro brands can do is what they are already doing. Giving quality, value for money products compared to the Japs. You see a lot of Korean cars around KL and Klang valley. However, outside of Klang valley many a still very worried about Korean cars. But with many KL ppl driving balik kampung with Korean cars, the perception will change, albeit slowly. That is what the Euro brands must do. Give quality service and quality products and your customers will be your best marketing tool.

saab cars were all turbo's.....this kinda mentality sunk them into doom!

SAAB were expensive, not because of the turbo, but because of the chassis. It is said that carmakers wonder why SAAB is so expensive, until they crash test them. SAAB have very strong chassis.

Anyway, turbodiesels have been around for years. Not much problem there. The problem with turbo is if you use RM30, 20W50 API SG not well known brand for your oil.

Engine leak seemed to be a repeating issue with turbo engines. Be it Pug/VW/Ford.

To all my NA Engine brothers:
So far any leaking issues?

What happened? Coolant leak from head gasket? Or for the turbo? Oil leak?

Hmm, yeah actually this is the least of things to worry about. The more worrying one is how the engine is designed. PCV host carrying back engine oil mists going back into intake manifold is no good. Over time, sludge will start building up in the manifold causing issues. Sludge over time will harden and causes more wear and tear.

Dont know why they put and pcv hose there, but on higher performance model, ie THP200, this hose seems to be totally removed. I wonder what are the side effects of removing it. Blowby gases have no where to escape.

Anyway, can hardly wait for the warranty to be over. Once over, I'll get an occ installed just to be safe

I think it has to do with emission laws. Browsing the net about PCV, many say that oil catch tank is better. But manufacturers do not use it because that is one more maintenance item for users. What if a user does not empty the catch tank. Then the oil will spill. If it spills onto the exhaust and cause fire, the manufacturer would be sued.
