Any source you got that 408T is not reliable?
So far no major issue for ALL our 408T 

different engine, please. the 'm' engine is, i dare say even better than what you find in the flagship 508.

Yes slightly different engine which is why power output differs. The 508 hp is 156 while the 408 churns out 163Hp. Torque output same. Similar case to the Kia Optima K5 2.0L. The latest version launched last month gives out 170Hp as compared to the earlier version which gives out 163Hp only.

do read back 3 or 4 pages. i think skyjack posted the differences and improvements. your sales person is a dope to tell you they are the same. he probably ponteng the product training classes. by the way, the mods cannot be upgraded for the other models using the older engine. if anyone wants these mods, there is only one way; buy the 408t.

EP6CDTM (408t) carries the following mods:

1) Engine tuned to run on RON 87 petrol
2) Remapped ECU
3) New designed piston with lower compression
4) New designed catalyzer.
5) New engine oil filter housing with heat exchanger
6) New turbo charger
7) New fuel tank gauge unit with lower pressure pump to handle lower grade petrol.
8) A fuel filter to cater for hash atmospheric condition ( third world country).

U won't find it here or in any euro ncap result as 408 is NOT sold in both region.

If u want to see one, I can only see one Brazilian low speed crash test (not the same thing) it is in YouTube

go test a K5 or try having 1 over the weekend...

the engine and gearbox is so crude and un-refined. the throttle input is so laggy and the car needs time to get up to speed.
you cant just floor the throttle as the engine will make alot of racket up front and yet you are not going anywhere despite the racket...
(granted the one i have was the one with the theta-II engine, yet to be given a NU engine version)

the ride and handling is rubbish even when compared to the preve i had the week earlier...
body roll is so uncontrolled...
the steering is hydraulic but i cant feel the road... weird..
heck even the paddle shifters felt flimsy... when u look deeper, things like exposed subwoofer and mechanical parts in the trunk, tactility of the buttons comes to fore...

cant comment on the tyre noise as it is subjective because u can always change to a quieter tyres to lower the noise...
but the one i have is stock nexen with roughly about 20% used and boy the tyre is noisy..

apart from space, nope until they improve on it, this will not be recommended to my friends or family. this is precisely why camry is still selling so well despite sporting such a low spec...

personally, i find it the best way to drive the K5 is to slowly get it up to speed. this car is for u to take your time and enjoy the journey as the seats are truly supportive. just dont get anywhere in a hurry.

i am getting a 408 NA for use over the weekend in the coming weeks.
lets see how it goes.

Simply because ure not an 'expert' and ure not a Jap supporter. 

At Peugeot glenmarie now. Car front left passenger door is not aligned. Came for inspection 2 weeks ago and was told the screw that was missing is the culprit.

Service advisor that checked my car called yesterday for today's appointment to fix it. Apparently, I need to wait 2 weeks for the arrival of screw. (they don't keep stock) gosh!

I was briefed by the service advisor that I have to bear the cost of the screw which is rm1.80. It's not costly but for a screw, yes, it's bloody expensive. And guess what, I have to bear the cost because the screw went missing. Those who know own 408 will know the screw is made with special design that normal Phillips screwdriver is unable to unscrew it. Therefore, I have no reason to remove it and definitely don have the capability of doing it. Yet, I am punished for the sloppy assembly job. Totally disappointed.

Collected my Peugeot privilege card today. 6months after collecting my car. Flipped through the privileges booklet and found this card is useless except the towing service that covers up to rm150. Others, are craps.

Fellow pugs, do check ur front left door passenger door panel for loosen screws. And if your door panel is not properly aligned...it could be the screws.
