Got my new 408 turbo yesterday and i noticed 2 issues. 1st, engine check light is on during driving. But it went off after i drove for about 100km (according to my SA, this is because of "old" fuel in the tank, which i dont really understand what it is NVM, as long as it's back to normal now). 2nd issue is the braking system. I felt strong vibration whenever i pressed the brake. SA told me that my brake pad is still new and vibration will go off once the brake pad and disc brake lining matches. However, after some hard and soft braking for 2 days, vibration is still there... quite disappointed with this. Anyone of you encounter this problem???

I'm confused with the air recirculation button. SA told me that if the light is on, then outside air will flow in. But the user manual say the other way round "pressing this button for recirculation of the interior air". Of course I will follow the user manual for this. Strange thing is I need to press the button (light on) whenever i start the car. Is this how it should be?

I also noticed something weird on the central air vent. When i increase the temperature higher (too cold), the 2nd air vent in the central air vent will blow hot air while the other 2 side vent in the central air vent will blow cold air. Is this normal???

Anyone of you have the same experiences, pls share..... thx

let me help you with this since you didnt read previous post been mention about the old fuel in tank.
Try to pump new fuel and the problem wil solve. 2nd, other than your new brake pad cause vibration, remember to adjust your tyre air level to a suitable level. All new car been through this.
Finally the air circulation button is much useful if you smoke in the car. The air will recirculate and you can enjoy fresh air con again ( this apply if someone fart in your car). You dont have to turn it on all the time.

About your air con, Im not too sure. But 1st, try to turn OFF the air circulation button and have a try. Send it back to SC to check it out if this problem stil exist. 3 air vent should be sharing same temperature. update your firmware dunno will fix the problem onot.

I recommend you to gather all the problem and weakness and make a complain during your 1st 2.5k inspection.

Thanks for the useful information. Approximately how long does it takes for the vibration to go away? So by turning the air circulation button on means allowing inflow of air from outside? I will try to turn off the air circulation button and try again as per your suggestion...

thanks again...

Yes, I'm having the same symptoms...not sure if this is a problem with the car or user problem? Whenever I start the car, I will turn the aircon fan speed then press the A/C and air recirculation. This applies to both 408 T and 408 NA. It is definitely very different from Toyota and Honda  rclxub.gif

So do you mean I should turn off (light off) the air circulation to prevent inflow of outside air? little bit confused here tongue.gif

Light on = air circulation. Air circulate within your car preventing air flow in from outside.

Thanks for the info.... Is there anyway that I can set it to On automatically? Coz now I need to turn it on everytime i start the car

My car aircon system is similar to the Peugeot but ive never experienced this 'issue'.  hmm.gif

I guess you always turn the air con quite cold until there's no chance to let the air con blow out warm wind... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Andy, I assume the center vent starts to blow warm air when u set the temperature around 23 or 24? Then its the same as my car, and I assume its working as it should, just like lowpro said.

About the air circulation defaults to off whenever u turn on the aircond, idk if theres a workaround to this, but i dont think its too much hassle to press another button to turn the circulation on right? tongue.gif

you're right... warm air start blowing out around 24 degree Celsius. I don't mind to press it everytime i start the car, but will be +1 if it can be set to automatic icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't know about your car, but mine is still cold even with air recirculation off. But I drive a different marque but it really shouldn't be all that different. Of coz don't compare to Japanese, their air cond is really industrial grade cold even at low settings tongue.gif

I think the temperature reading for air cond is not so accurate ya... agreed with you with japanese car air cond, 24 or 25 degree is quite comfortable already... but for peugeot, i need to turn in down until 21 or 22...

so we can have our brake check even before 2,500km service? if we did this, do we still entitle to free service when we reached 2,500km? brows.gif

Shall we create a new topic as "Peugeot 408 Owner Club"? Or something like that? Actually this tread was meant for 408 spied shot, and TS has gone missing. Just a suggestion.
