The 408t is an amassing car,go for it. No cash rebates as the car was only introduced 2 months ago and I believe is selling well. I booked during launch and got cap,umbrella and full tank petrol. Don't know if you'll get any free gifts now,but you can always try!

Bookings does not necessarily translate to sales. Anyway, I believe one should choose his/her car based on his/her priority, not on how many bookings/sales certain models of car has achieved. And just so you know, my final decision is between Elantra vs 408 and guess what, I've choosen 408 and loving it 

If you have the buck, please go for 408T. I'm not really craving its powerful engine but more to it's excellent steering feedback and safety feature of course. Each time I take high speed corner, I couldn't stop hoping that I could take the corner with more confidence as I (presumeably) would be with electro-hydraulic steering. If only the NA comes with electro-hydraulic...    And the steering feel is one of the reason I've choosen 408 instead of Elantra eventhough 408NA hydraulic steering is quite light, Elantra's steering is super super light (!)

I know exactly what you mean. I too was very concerned about the THP reliability. Of course no point asking the SA,they will always say those are old issues and have been solved. Even after booking, I kept researching THP issues. There were many problems in the UK forums. I also found out 6 mods were carried out addressing reliability. Reassuring point for me was that 508 owners were not complaining about the engine. Knowing that and Peugeot's 5 year warranty gave me the confidence to get the turbo.

This is very general question that has far fetching implications.  I know business implication are grave and immence. I believe the government of the day will come with a workable rescue plan. It may not be a 100% cure,I have no idea. Not to get too long winded,I'm going to keep the answer to how I will be affected.
Although I bought my car 2 months ago and reduced tax will drop valve of my car drastically, I'm for the move. Peugeot has never had good resale valve in Malaysia. All of us buy the car knowing this. We buy this car for it has to offer, not how much we can sell it for later. Unfortunately this move of reducing tax will further drop the valve of my car. I'm not going to drool over it but when the time come to sell,I'll write it off on the years of pleasure of ownership of a great car. 
On the positive side,due to reduced tax,my next ride will be a even greater one!
As for the proposal of reducing tax, yes I'm all for it!

The points actually not much affected me. This is more to the fineness while assembling the car. They should giving more care on these tiny miny things~ The most attractive to me is the point number 3
I totally agree that the 6 speed gear is not SMART enough, it drag till around 2500rpm to change to the next gear. Its ridiculous it dragging the gear at 2200rpm while I am moving at a slow speed!! End up I was like the commenter changing the gear manually!

Turn off your engine, take out your key. And then press down your wiper controller just like how you turn on the auto wiper. Then it will go to parallel position.
To make it back to normal position, press the wiper controller down again.

Turbos crankup quite a fair bit of heat in operation. Many ways of cooling depending on requirement and cost efficiency. On cars,comonly a timer is added to run the engine at idle for a few minutes,after ignition off.This is the old system. No timer on the 408t,cooling achieved by more efficient system which does not need engine operation,thus saving fuel.

On our Pug the turbo is a little compressor that rotates at phnominal speed. The faster it runs the more the heat generated. Every time you step on the padle for lagi 'syoik',the faster it spins, more the heat generated. Many of you are concerned about this generated heat,rightly so!

A combination of heat exchangers,motor assisted turbofan and sensors,calm our lion down. Heat exchanger is a set of pipes stuck together through which the hot oil is routed. When the pipes are exposed to air, heat dissipates. Air is blown on the pipes by a fan run by exhaust gases or by battery,in the case of ignition off. This is the reason for the fan to run a while after ignition off. Running period will depend on level of heat. Sensors switch off the fan when threshold temperatures are reached.

This of course is a very simplified explanation for easy understanding,there is a lot more to it! So don't worry guys,our lion is well cooled. Don't need to run it at idle before shut down. Hope this helps! If you still feel the need to idle run before shut down, no harm!

The slower you drive, the higher the fuel consumption (unless very fast I guess ).
Pure highway I got 7.5 l/100 km (average speed 107 km/hr).
Worst reading is 12.3 l/100 km (average speed 34 km/hr).

That is y I said 1.8k kg in my previous post and i do find the car is heavy.
