You mean your car will be available for you to pickup at the spot and time mentioned. How do they do this, on a trailer and moving around?

oops, sorry if i made it unclear. for the 'shuttle' service, they use the peugeot 207. and this car which has a sticker on its side to show 'peugeot shuttle' goes along a pre-determined route daily to fetch and send customers to key points. very much like a bus service but for peugeot owners only.

no, funny thing, when i back from test drive and parking it to the usual place, there is oil or something on the ground, i asked her what's that, oil leaking? she said .. oh it's time to service... i was like "wtf, only 79km new test drive car.

could be air-cond water? yeah, demo cars must be serviced earlier and more frequent due to the abnormal uses they are subjected to all the time. pretty normal.

Something doen't sit quite right with me on this. If an engine is leaking it will be right at the bottom of the car. Does it seem likely anyone would get on their knees to look for oil leak after testing a brand new car! On an old car yes,but a brand new car???

Btw I tested 5 brand new cars and 7 used cars before I booked the 408. On all 7 used cars I went on my knees, not on any of the new cars!

1) There's only 1.6 Turbo and 2.0 NA variants. So far my Turbo FC 10L/100KM. I have a heavy foot. After run in or first service FC can be better. 2.0 FC can be higher.
2) Normal service is around Rm400. Major can be Rm3000.
3) Not sure
4) So far for what I know is those Peugeot branch will not give any cash rebate or offer. Unless you go and look for private dealer who they discount from their own commission.

There's really not much of a difference in FC between the turbo and NA. It all depends how you drive. However for 16k more you get quite a lot on the turbo model, stretching from additional safety features to exciting drive! Think no more,go for the turbo, you'll not regrett!

Your case is same as mine, tight budget to go for 408T. But I didn't regret buying the 408NA either rclxms.gif

To your query about the FC for 2.0, for 10% hway + 90% town driving, I get around 10.7 - 10.9 l/100km. For 90% hway, the best FC observed is 7.9 l/100km. Like SKYJack said, it mostly depends on how you drive. But then again, if you're stuck in traffic jam, 1.6 turbo will consume less fuel for sure.

If budget is one of your concern, and you dont really care abt those spec that missing in 2.0NA. Don't worry abt the FC. Its actually not that much dif between these 2 variants.

Somemore 2.0NA engine is more reliable compare to 16T.

Thanks for ur great info and advice.. seems city and hway FC quite big diff..
But I think this figure still acceptable..
By the way, do u know 2.0 na is timing belt or chain?
The SA told is timing chain. But some blog and forum said it is belt.

Hi, compare 408 1.6T to others car say civic 2.0, altis 1.8/2.0, how you guys owners think in term of power, NVH ?
I test drive both 308/408T, feel that 308T seem better power, though same engine different tuning.

I managed to get 7.9l/100km when driving not more than 100km/hr during the break-in period so like I said, it will depends on your driving style.

I believe 408NA uses timing belt, simillar to 407.

From my research, 1.6 turbo or Prince engine faced few problem especially on 308 whereas the NA engine reliability has been proven on 407. Anyway, for the newer version of Prince has undergone few modification and the previous problems shouldn't exist on this version of engine.

Remember my complaint on the rattling sound on front-left door sometime ago in this forum? I was washing my car one day when I found this..

I believe this is part of the plastic fender but fell off (or broken!!) during installation.

Random survey; for those who tested the 408T, did any of you test its direct competitor, the VW Jetta? What can you comment about the ride quality (stiffness of suspension, body roll, road vibration) between these 2 cars?

I dint really teat drive Jetta. But did sit inside it and look at the interior. Just sorry that I can't accept Jetta interior, it's too empty feel for me. Somemore, you can't get a Jetta at 408 price. You got only Polo at this price.

So far my ride on 408T is good, I can really feel that the price engine is responsive. But it could be quite bumpy on low profile tyre and sport suspension. Mostly due to our lovely road condition.

408T is heavier and bigger body compare to 308T, that's why you can feel better power on 308T. Some ppls did test drove these few segment C and they claimed that 408 will definitely win on NVM side. Conti car mah...

i think the fuel consumption difference is not the major factor. its all in the way you drive. i am getting around 9.6L and mostly town driving, u know the jam on LDP etc. softer on the pedal, u'll save. but to me the most important factor in choosing the NA or T is the drive comfort and your driving pattern. more relaxed/comfort and quiet feel opt for NA but if you like the thrills... then T is yout choice. I sacrificed the thrills just for the comfort the car provides.
