Already half month past for May 2012, still no news of official ICS for SGS2 Malaysia users...

So sad and unfair for those who waited so long...

Any where that I can make complain so that Samsung can speed up the updates?

Can someone confirm this with me?

My S2 now is using GB 2.3.6, and I'm using KIES to backup my SMS, Call Logs, Contacts, Memo.

After I updated to ICS, will I able to restore back those data from KIES?

Guys, I'm so happy after getting back my SGS2 from Samsung Service Centre @ Lowyat Plaza 4th floor.

Now I have my OFFICIAL MALAYSIA ICS update inside my SGS2.

Version : 4.0.3
Baseband : I9100DXLP9


The entire waiting period is about 1 hour.

Hurry up guys with SME sets, go for the update.

Whats the Keyboard Input that support English and Chinese inputs beside the one that offer in ICS (Samsung IME and DioPen Chinese IME).

Samsung IME inside ICS doesn't support chinese input and the DioPen Chinese IME is too troublesome when it comes to type chinese.

So fellow SGS2 users, please suggest me a nice and better one.

Guys, after upgraded to ICS 4.0.3, the official rom for MY.

KIES don't seem to able to communicate with my device, I can't restore back all my contacts, sms, memos, calender and call log. I can sure that KIES and my SGS2 is connected or not...

Plus the Basic Information page on KIES doesn't show the firmware I'm using now too.

Anything wrong with it? Can someone please guide me from here as I have importants sms and call logs which I cannot afford to lose...

OMG, all the while I'm using KIES to do all my backup. My most important data are Contacts, SMS, Call Log and Memo....

Please tell me there is another way to retrieve back those backup data from KIES by using others apps, otherwise I will be in nightmare....

You can walk into the Samsung Service Centre located at Plaza Lowyat, 4th floor.

Entire upgrading process will takes around 1hour.

The 3rd pic shows that my SGS2 is connected, but KIES doesn't shows any info of firmware I'm using...

Whats wrong here? With KIES or the setting of my SGS2?

Just wondering those that went to upgrade the ICS firmware at Samsung Service Centre, do you all face the problem of Kies unable to detect your SGS2(I9100) after the upgrade?

All the while I'm using KIES to backup my data such as Contact, SMS, Call Log, Memo, Schedule. I did that as well before I send to Samsung Service Centre for the ICS upgrade.

But my advice is better backup those data using 3rd party apps cause I'm facing problem of detecting my SGS2 from KIES after the ICS upgrade.

I already refer this issue to Samsung Customer Hotline, and they ask me to bring along my laptop and my SGS2 back to the service centre to seek for solution.

So, I might be going to Lowyat again.

Went to the Lowyat Samsung Service Centre today, try to solve my problem regarding my S2 cannot be detect by KIES after upgraded to ICS from the centre itself.

Before going, I made a call to Samsung Customer Care Line and try to solve it over the phone, but the operator advice me to go directly to the centre as they can solve it for me there.

So I went there together with my laptop as advice from the operator. But end up still failed to solve my issue.

Those technician ask me to leave my S2 at the centre there and let them figure out what went wrong. I seek for their advice and they suggest me to downgrade back to GB...

In my mind, WTH is this???? Trying to tell me the ICS that you upgraded for me isn't stable and incompatible with KIES????

Hell no for sure, I've been waited the upgrade for so long and you telling me to revert back just after 2 days of exploring it? No way man...

So for those who wanted to go for the upgrade of ICS at Service Centre, please remember to backup all your data by using a 3rd party app just in case the same thing happen to you as well...

And for those that had upgraded from the SC and successfully restore from KIES, please share with me here as well...

Guys, is it possible to use my KIES backup file from GB version to restore the memo into another SGS2 with GB version, then backup those "restored memo"i by 3rd party apps and restore it into my ICS SGS2?

Possible to get it done in this way?

I already have my Call Log, SMS and Contact restored, just left the Memo.

Guys, is it possible to retrieve the stock notification files from a stock ICS SGS2 nonG?

Where are all these files located at? Think of wanna modify the length of certain files to become my whatsapp notification tone...

Guys, any idea where is the system folder located at?

I'm trying to locate it by using My Files and also ES File Explorer but still no luck to locate the folder..
