Hi guys,
I am about to buy a S2 in a few days...even S3 is coming out soon...hehehe
what worries me is...
do I need to do this KIES...rooting...etc...after I buy the phone?
I read all of these but still make me pening...not a very techie guy I guess...
if I buy then use is it ok?
*
Kies (yeah, if any update pop's up)

Rooting is up to you (If ur a normal user then better don't, get the hang of ur S2 first.. When ur ready to go to the dark side.. Then ur ready) smile.gif

Hello sifus.I'm asking on behalf f my fathers S2..he updated an official gingerbread software last week and only yday he installed drop box and soon after he had the android os bug.
Ive uninstalled for him the application but the bug is still persistent.any ideas how to fix this?
*
I've installed drop box, box and Google drive. I'm not sure if it has to do with any bugs on any of this software.
Any pirated software you installed there?
What bugs that did occur? hmm.gif

Im so pissed of with the keyboard.
Using Swype is better but I hate using the keyboard in a browser (Dolphin HD).
When I want to type, it becomes very jumpy.
So I want to install an aftermarket keyboard app.
Another reason is because I type a similar type message to around 30 people a day.
So I want to get a good t9 app.

QUestion is, after I install an aftermarket app, can I still change back to the stock keyboard?
*
There are so many type of keyboard that suit different person, such as for me i'm using swift key X..
And yeah is the NO.1 for me.. tongue.gif

Try it out, and see whether you'll like it?

Just sharing..
i'm not sure if you all realise, that Samsung provide a build in app inside the phone that function the same as seekdroid, to detect, wipe out, or fully lock our lost phone..

Not sure, if it pop's up after the ICS update..
But the function is in setting > security > SamsungDive web page

But yeah, it's kinda auwsome, kinda testing it out now tongue.gif

Yeah I read about Swift Key X too.

I found a website that lists all the best ones for each style; T9, Swype etc.

Added on May 15, 2012, 6:12 pmDoes Google Map use up a lot of data?

Sometimes I really need to use the Google Map Direction.

How come the google map in browser is not so polished like the one in our computer browser?
*
Not that sure, i'm currently using either waze (FREE) or sygic (PAID)
As google navigation doesn't support Malaysia yet, unless the phone is rooted.

Guys, I'm so happy after getting back my SGS2 from Samsung Service Centre @ Lowyat Plaza 4th floor.

Now I have my OFFICIAL MALAYSIA ICS update inside my SGS2.

Version : 4.0.3
Baseband : I9100DXLP9
The entire waiting period is about 1 hour.

Hurry up guys with SME sets, go for the update.

I'm glad I follow this post along the way...

Is Waze better than the Google Map Direction in the browser?

What do you mean that the Google Navigation doesn't support Malaysia yet unless the phone is rooted?
If I root my phone, I can use it?

Is the Google Navigation similar to Google Direction?
*
Well when you open google navigation an error would pop up, saying that it doesn't support in Malaysia yet..

Yeah, replacing the map.. You can check out the tutorial at XDA.
Plus if i root the phone, it may affect the warranty.. So not planning to do so till i get my second android phone coming up in the future.

Waze is quite ok to me, as it would detect the best route, and jam location in Malaysia when others share it.
and place you wanna search would actually integrate not only by waze or google, but also foursquare. So you can detect most places using it smile.gif

Overall for free navigation in Malaysia, i'll say waze is the best..

Check out here
