Hi, everyone smile.gif

Im trying to root my phone but im very new to it.
Im aware that the first thing i need to do is to flash using the ODIN software.
The problem is, when i've push the buttons that sets the phone to downloading mode, i only got to the 'Downloading....do not turn off target'.
When i connect with USB to my computer, in the ODIN window, the small box doesnt turn yellow, as if it didnt detect my phone.

And where do i find this CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar file?
Phone is GT-i9000.

Any advise? sad.gif

the CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_KI4-v4.4-CWM4.zip doesnt seem like a .tar file rclxub.gif
i've selected the PDA button but nothing came up to open.

what i got in the .zip file is the zImage item that didnt show up as a .tar file in ODIN

Unzip the file to extract the .tar. Click on the word PDA. Not the tick box.
