G supposed to be better version of non G coz its underclocked, wont overheat so easily and saves battery. But keep hang.

If you buy now most probably non G, especially those white ones.
*
well now ori sme set is only G available
unless consider APset then non-G still available

Yup, upgraded to stock ICS 4.0.3 last week, horrified at the battery drain in spite of switching a lot of stuff off. Now safely back to GB and yes, nothing in ICS that I miss...
*
it's Samsung's fault to release a crap touchwiz ics, so far so many vanilla roms on so many different phones i've used all are superb, there's nothing i miss on gingerbread

It is not about ICS belonging to Samseng, but it is up to Samseng to release ICS (for our country) to us, or you now want to say "ICS already released bah" by google.

sad, you all slowly wait for your ics la, altho i can say there's ntg special, zero NONE, infact i think i prefer gingerbread, less bugs doh.gif

This is somewhat true, I was craving for ICS back then, then I got impatient and flashed the Europe one, I still remember it's XXLPQ. Many bugs, transition not really smooth, touch sensitivity isn't good also. Kinda regreted upgrading. After that I use custom ROM till now.

But after using for like 3-4 months of custom ROMs, I must say I still prefer TouchWiz (YES. lol), the way that launcher presents everything. Now I'm waiting for CheckROM to make Samsung stock ROM perfect! thumbup.gif

Hi, my case same as you. I practically can't sleep at all cost too excited that time.
But after the excitement died down, the stock ics really fail. Then I tried customs, been with checkrom ever since,
But every now and then got try ics roms, but they don't meet my expectations. Because although they introduce some new things, some simple things are gone. Aokp roms stuck with lock screen vibrations, and no FM radio, which is a must for me.

Now the trend is many users demanding ics, when it finally arrive, expect tons of users complaining compatibility issues, and back up restore failures, or complains that there nothing too special.

Nope, it is not type. 2212-May-23, after 200 years, long after Singapore, Brunei, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Thailand, Myanmar, HK, and many others get jelly bean, then ICS will be released by Samseng malaysia.

Go Service Center la. They want to meet you, that's why not releasing online.

Added on May 22, 2012, 6:40 pmHave been playing it whole day... I think better stick to GB for those whom have yet to upgrade. Otherwise, go ICS but custom rom.

Absurd. G version is not the better version.
Being a long term member in sgs2 thread, I've seen lots and lots of complains on g version.

Your point about being overheat is right though.
The reason why g version not so hot is due to the fact its capped at 1ghz.

But my phone since I bought it, I've been using it at 1ghz as well.
Its too easy to root non g so, and can easily under clock it to 1ghz as well to prevent over heating.

There is absolutely no strong points that g has that the non g doesn't have.

Non g is a g version that doesn't hang, everything works, no memory card issue, camera hang issue, music player skip track issue, lots of custom roms, more app compatibility, and doesn't hang when playing temple run.

Last I tried was quite OK. Smooth and nice.
I especially love how they customize the ics task switcher.

Unfortunately most of the interface is white and orange. Too bright colors not good for battery life.
Can't download themes cost most of them not for ics. Also duno why the download speed so slow for themes. Wait so long, and in the end theme not campatible. Got fed up and left the rom.
