Guys I need a desperate help.

I managed to get my phone to ICS successfully, but since got some troubles, I tried to manually flash it.

But sadly, I've done something wrong and now I cant boot my phone, and cant reflash it since it (Odin) said cant open serial (com).

Here what I did the first time:

1. Download the firmware from SamFirmware.
2. Use Odin. Load the firmware to PDA, Phone, CSC. Then Start.
3. Midway during flashing, something happened and it says Fail.
4. Had to reboot.
5. By this time the 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again appear'.
6. I tried reflashing, but cant seem to pass the SetupConnection stage.
7. Help?

Hey guys, just checking, how long did your firmware flashing take? I flashed with KIEs since 11pm and at 5am my phone still says "Downloading... Do not turn off target"... while Kies on my PC says, "Device not responding, please reboot device"... really torn as to whether to reboot, and try flashing again... or wait until the phone says something else...

Damn.. i knew i should have just used odin to flash in recovery mode instead of using the "official" method

Now you're in bootloop. Try wipe data/cache/dalvik cache. The reflash again. Kernel maybe causing bootloop

Why you flash aosp kernel on samsung rom. doh.gif Use odin and flash samsung rom kernel. Look for those with .tar file and flash in odin.

if you want to update using odin, uninstall kies. odin and kies never goes along at same computer. using odin, have to download and install samsung USB drive for x86 or x64 respectively. kies official way, odin 'backdoor' way. the choice is yours

Odin and samsung USB drive: Here

Here are my observations after upgraded to ICS 4.0.3

Positive +
Transition is smoother.
Font is neater
Faster camera shutter

Negative -
Screen color seems like washed out.
Screen brightness dimmed compare to gingerbread
Screen brighten when using Internet browser
Always prompt to press ok or cancel when turn on/off data, annoying.
