does it matter?..tighter timing will improve anything?..noobie here...

tighter timings = better performance

i asked this question a month ago. after getting the 2-2-2-5 RAM recently, i am able to make comparisons. just like all the sifus (i.e: kucingfight) told me, it's the speed that matters. i mean the FSB. it does not make any difference when i'm using 2-2-2-5 or 2.5-3-3-7. but with relaxed timing, i can overclock more. so in the end, i settle for speed over timing. now my 2.4c is on steroid at 3.2GHZ. brows.gif

not purely the clockspeed that matters, of course its nice to see your rams running at a higher speed but u gotta run some benchies to determine which actually benefits u more
but for your P4 i guess the clockspeed does matter more in the end

check your timings under the Memory tab
that SPD tab shows the default timings only

200mhz = DDR400 = PC3200

and yeah, tight timings + high clockspeed = the best?! shocking.gif
ZOMG now we know! doh.gif

question about the timings,
which of the 4 (CAS, RAS to CAS, RAS, Tras) makes the biggest difference?
i remember for P4 last time the CAS doesnt matter much, RAS to CAS is most important followed by RAS
