It's normal, launcher behaviour so next time, when users want to use the same app. They don't have to swipe unless they want to use another app which located on another page. Tap widgets and then tap apps to back to first back before exit then.

UOT only support up to 800x480 hdpi devices only. You can try?
Because I dunno it support up to xhdpi for Galaxy Nexus.

Even I try with Nexus S previously, the battery and cellular icon have big wide GAP...

You need a custom kernel and install NSTools to enable fast charge

exp 1 = first nightlies
exp 2 = second nightlies

If you want to flash experimental lean kernel go for the latest exp nightlies

Battery wise, it's base on your setting. Every kernel is the same. If you feel anal with it, install betterbatterystats for info and CPUSpy to check wakelocks

If you flash a Custom ROM that requires you to flash gapps then flash both.
If you flash a Custom ROM that not requires you to flash gapps then don't have too.
If you only flash gapps, only you need to do is wipe cache and dalvik then flash gapps.

1. Download the Android 4.0.4 factory images to your PC. [Download Here]
2. Unzip the file and its contents twice then copy all into your SDK/platform-tools folder (wherever your adb.exe and fastboot.exe files are).
