My friend quote me RM 3500 not include the paint for whole house, paint need to buy ourselves.

If you are willing to pay RM2380, then it is cheap..if you are not willing to pay that amount then it is expensive. That depend on the owner

actually it depend such as

do they provide skim coat?
how many layer for inside and outside(usually 2 la)
do they scrap off/blast high pressure water to old paint before painting

how many worker and how many days would it take

some got 4k for two story including paint, but still depend on house size

I feel a bit expensive for me therefore I am thinking not to paint since it's a new house.

I am just completing major reno on a Semi-d, need complete repaint of house inclusive under coating, as all walls are now pretty much cement render new.

Any idea what is the costs of labour for a semi-d? I am looking at 2 tone for outside, 2 tone for inside.

This kind of labour painting works is very much depends on the skill lever of the painter. Becouse their man day cost could different in 3 times.
So, ask what level of skill labour they provide, then you estimate how many man days need to complete the scope of works you all ask them to do.
That should be a guide to justify whether they are over quoting you all or not.

RM800 for painting entire porch, gate, grills, all cleaned with brush and high pressure water spray. One person, just the contractor himself. Three days, totalling maybe 10 hours.

Expensive. My painter charged me RM1600 to paint my double storey house. Only exclude grille, as grille is coated and new.

1.6k double story in side out with paint, that is very cheap i will say.
