Key points

- KTM freight carried on Thai train derailed in Thailand on 5th May 2012

- KTM officers feel angry at SRT (State Railway of Thailand) in failing to maintain the track in Thailand

- KTM officers also blamed Thai govt for neglecting basic things such as maintenance while wanting to pursue bullet train

                  Mr.Chan ซึ่งเป็นตัวแทน TS. Trand Rail บริษัทที่ปรึกษาการเชื่อมโยงขนส่งระหว่างประเทศไทยและประเทศมาเลเซีย ของการรถไฟมาเลเซีย กล่าวว่า  รถแคร่บรรทุกทั้ง 17 คันบรรทุกคอนเทนเนอร์ 34 ตู้เป็นยาพาราอัดแท่งรมควันมีมูลค่าตู้ละกว่า 10 ล้านบาท ทั้ง 34 ตู้มีมูลค่าประมาณ 400 ล้านบาท ประเด็นคือรถแคร่ดังกล่าวทั้ง 17 คันเป็นของการรถไฟมาเลเซีย ที่นำมาบรรทุกคอนเทนเนอร์โดยมีหัวรถจักรของการรถไฟไทยลากไปรวมขบวนสินค้าที่ อ.หาดใหญ่ จ.สงขลา จากนั้นจะไปเปลี่ยนหัวรถจักรเป็นของการรถไฟมาเลเซียที่ อ.ปาดังเบซาร์ และเดินทางต่อไปที่ปีนัง ไปลงเรือสินค้าที่นั่น
               
                  “ทุกคนเป็นห่วงการรถไฟของประเทศไทย ฝ่ายการเมืองมัวแต่ไปวุ่นกับเรื่องรถไฟความเร็วสูงแต่ไม่เคยให้ความสำคัญกับเส้นทางการขนส่งระบบรางของภาคใต้ไปยังประเทศเพื่อนบ้านทั้งที่เป็นเส้นทางที่มีค่าใช้จ่ายถูกมาก สร้างรายได้ให้กับประเทศมหาศาล ขนส่งระบบรางมีแค่เส้นทางนี้เส้นทางเดียว รัฐบาลไทยคงไม่ทราบว่ารัฐบาลมาเลเซียได้สร้างระบบรางคู่หมดแล้ว สาเหตุที่เกิดขึ้นเพราะระบบรางของประเทศไทยไม่ได้มาตรฐาน ชำรุดจึงสร้างความเสียหายให้มากขนาดนี้  ซึ่งหลังจากนี้คงต้องไปดูต่อรื่องของการประกันภัยความเสียหาของตัวคอนเทนเนอร์ ตัวสินค้า รถแคร่ อีกมหาศาล ไม่รวมค่าระวางเรือที่ต้องสูญเสีย เสียเวลา เสียโอกาสนี่คือตัวอย่างที่ไม่มีประสิทธิภาพและไม่มีการพัฒนา ผมพยายามผลักดันเรื่องนี้มาเป็น10ปีแล้วรัฐบาลไทยไม่เคยใส่ใจเรื่องระบบการขนส่งในภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย” ที่ปรึกษารายนี้กล่าวในที่สุด

There were derailments in KTM, they are quite documented.

Usually such derailments happened on old single track sections.

KTM accusation is not entirely baseless, the railtrack/rail in Thai is really not well maintained, last year also got many case where their own train derailed and engineer died. A lot of internal problem and corruption inside.

i can say thai authorities are much worse corruptions interm of this train maintenance,heck people already died

Malaysian government should ask Thai government to speed up double track of Thai railway line from Pdg Besar to Bangkok.

malaysia train derailed not until like this lol. this is total derailment. malaysia one maybe 1 or 2 cariagges of track but never terbalik.

Kesian la thailand

they suhu 44 celcius.... we only 30 celcius....

so got difference in temperature....

so the rails mengembang....

so trains derail....

next time cold cold wont derail wan...hot hot derail la.....

its all najib fault...why he no check temperature before connecting rail between thai and malaysia....bodoh punya bijan..

maybe not as bad but there few bad incident in recent years

accident happen, pointing finger is normal, comparing statistic is OK but saying we're perfect is not
nonetheless of course KTM is good and improving but still, that's not what I'm talking about
