here are my review and tips for the moulding trim
1) the moulding trim is indeed moulding, meaning it can go any shape you want and RETAIN that shape. 2) the quality of the trims is excellent, glossy and really have the 3d feel 3) the only thing i dont like (sorry ts) is the 3m tape that comes with it, the 3m tape is the sponge type which means when you heat+press the trim, some of the tape may out like leak and become visible tips on diy 1) A hair drier is really recommended, the method i use is that when i met with an angle, i hang the trim according to that angle and heat it up around 10 secs and the trim will soften and fall automatically falls towards that angle. I also sort of like "bake" the whole thing with hair drier after i done sticking to make sure that the 3m tape really holds 2) to create a seamless joint, at the end of the trim, i will leave an excess of 1/2mm between the two joint, so that i can push and join the trim together so that there will be a force pushing to close the joint. 3) Clean your surface with soapy water and dry it, I forgot that i applied dashboard shine like a year ago and i went on to stick the trims without proper cleaning, the trim wont stick until i clean my dashbpard properly with soapy water cheers TS: It will be an advantage against your competitors if you could find moulding trims with those transparent double side tape instead of the foam type This post has been edited by lyod71: Aug 1 2012, 10:34 PM |

QUOTE(lyod71 @ Aug 1 2012, 10:33 PM) here are my review and tips for the moulding trim Hi thanks for your sharing.1) the moulding trim is indeed moulding, meaning it can go any shape you want and RETAIN that shape. So it's not good to use the transparent one. Nice to deal wif you and looking forward your next support. Remember not to let the 3m tape touch any water for first 3 days. And so the 3m tape would become very stable after that. |
