QUOTE(waters @ May 9 2012, 07:12 AM) Hi guys. Got a problem with my note. I keep losing reception all the time. At home, I can never get any reception. The phone is always at -111dBm 1asu. Where's your location? When I go out in the car it goes up a bit to about -90 or so. I can get signal for a while, then it drops back down again. Anywhere I go it's like a see-saw! Up-down-Up-down. Can never get a stable signal. Even out in the open! Any help? I'm on stock gb 2.3.6 rom. Baseband is N7000DXLC1. Any thing I can do or shall I send it back to Samsung service. The phone is a week old |

QUOTE(waters @ May 9 2012, 10:35 AM) Guys, any info on how to boost signal strength. My signal strength is always between -111dBm and -90 or so. Can never hold anything higher than that. Always in-out-in-out. I get no reception at my house in Tropicana, PJ. I'm using galaxy note stock 2.3.6 ROM not rooted. Using digi smartplan. I don't think it's digi as my wife's HTC wildfire (also digi) shows -79 in the house, while I'm showing -111 all the time. Have you tried different provider SIM card? Totally weird and extremely frustrating. Don't get the same issue on my iphone3gs I'm using Celcom but apparently my house is a 'black hole' area for it, so I also get over -99 db within my house, but it's okay once outside... anyways, I tried with a Maxis SIM card and suddenly I get super great reception within the house I suggest you try with either Maxis or Celcom SIM and see if its also that bad reception. If so, it really could be due to provider. Added on May 9, 2012, 8:45 pm QUOTE(shchiam1978 @ May 9 2012, 08:21 PM) Done flashing to Lite'ning ROM 1.0 May I know if the Litening ROM came preinstalled with Betterbatterystats app?Restored all the applications- done Will test the battery and shall update the result by tomorrow. At the mean time, fully maximized the cpu when loading all the apps and i notice the battery only drop few %. I hope that this ROM will give me the satisfaction of fully heavy utilizing the phone. QUOTE(dacmo @ May 9 2012, 08:59 PM) Do you guys find that most other microUSB cables have a really tight fit into the charging slot? I had a 3rd party microUSB cable that I sometimes used to charge my SGS2. It was snug but I didn't have to force it in but I find that I almost have to force it into my Note. The original samsung ones go in without a problem. Does the Note have a tighter slot? No problems with Nokia-provided micro-USB cable (the 30cm short-like-Napolean one). In fact, I use that cable to charge at home while I bring the charger wherever I go in case need to charge suddenly. |

QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ May 9 2012, 09:40 PM) I bring my spare battery around just in case i run out of juice with my first. Change and get 100% immediately....hehe Well, i've never actually needed to emergency charge just yet. It's more of a backup. Note battery life is pretty damn decent as long as you get home every night. You only need to bring charger if you are using iphong...... Go get extra battery and external battery charger from korea ebay seller. Genuine samsung product....combo less than rm85. Now i have total 3 batteries....2 samsung original and 1 andida compatible......hehe |

QUOTE(dacmo @ May 9 2012, 10:16 PM) I notice that the good quality branded chargers cables seem ok. I tried a USB-microUSB cable from my previous Blackberry and a charger from my Jabra BT headset, they all seem to plug in ok. It's the cheapo one that had problems. Buy another Note, take the USB cable from it. ( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \I think I need to spend some money on a good quality cable. I need another cable to use as a car charger. Any recommendations? To be serious, I guess you can just get the official accessories from either Nokia or Samsung. Only the cable should be pretty cheap. This post has been edited by kurogane: May 9 2012, 10:31 PM |

QUOTE(Lucassss @ May 10 2012, 11:24 AM) Most of us here are debating between SGP Glas.t and xGlas. Glas.t user here. Not sure how the xGlas compares to it, but I can safely say the Glas.t is a great protector that makes my phone feel like beast it is. But get a professional to apply it for you, it's really a big investment. XGlas is a little cheaper, same concept. Maybe you'd like to try it out and give us some insight of what you think about it. I would suggest trying out the xGlas first to see how it fares though. GLAS.T is a serious investment (RM140) compared to the cheaper xGlas. |

So how's everyone's ICS experience? I'm downloading the stock ROM now and plan to flash tonight. Almost want to skip work just to flash this |

Went crazy and upgraded my Note to ICS from Gingerbread DarkyROM 3.4 RE in the office. All apps and data kept properly by using dr.ketan's guide. Most importantly root was kept properly. I'm glad I spent on Mobile Odin Pro
A little laggy at first, but after optimizing by forcing hardware acceleration and setting animations, plus disabling some useless Samsung apps (f*** yeah no need use other app to freeze any more!), I can say the official ICS is extremely smooth and stable after 3 hours of checking all the apps and making sure every thing works. Battery usage also surprisingly decent. Flash is 3 hours old and started with 65% battery, after nearly 2 hours of screen on it's currently at 42%. One drawback is for some reason 3G connection doesn't feel as stable as before, but I will need a longer time to make sure it's not due to bad coverage or overload. Anyways, ICS FINALLY! WOO HOO! QUOTE(antu_biskut @ May 11 2012, 08:28 PM) for data connection for me after 24hours on official ics can say that i didt face any issue..still maintain H+ or H data connection.. Yeah, I couldn't test it properly yet. My house signal is -110 db on average with Celcom so I can't test at home. Will be going for GoMobile tmrw anyways so ill see if it's really not that stable or something else. btw im using Maxis On a sidenote, got Chrome for Android. It's the best browser I've used so far holy crap. |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ May 11 2012, 09:14 PM) how come after extracting the ICS German ROM file I got the .tar file and .dll file? what's the .dll file? Won't affect, just place both files in the same folder and choose the .tar file.EDIT: for extra knowledge, I googled it. It's meant for Samsung Kies program. Can be safely ignored. QUOTE(anti_gaara @ May 12 2012, 09:05 AM) ... they took that out apparently. It was one of the best features of TouchWiz. Not sure why Samsung took it out. Hopefully it was just a mistake and they'll repatch that in next ICS release. A question for those on official ICS, is your charging a lot more slower now? I used to charge from 40% to 100% in about 3 hours off USB. Yesterday after plugging in at 8 and checking at 12:30, it only charged to like 96%... which is blardy slow. |
