Do you guys find that most other microUSB cables have a really tight fit into the charging slot? I had a 3rd party microUSB cable that I sometimes used to charge my SGS2. It was snug but I didn't have to force it in but I find that I almost have to force it into my Note. The original samsung ones go in without a problem. Does the Note have a tighter slot?

No problems with Nokia-provided micro-USB cable (the 30cm short-like-Napolean one). In fact, I use that cable to charge at home while I bring the charger wherever I go in case need to charge suddenly.

I notice that the good quality branded chargers cables seem ok. I tried a USB-microUSB cable from my previous Blackberry and a charger from my Jabra BT headset, they all seem to plug in ok. It's the cheapo one that had problems.

I think I need to spend some money on a good quality cable. I need another cable to use as a car charger. Any recommendations?

Buy another Note, take the USB cable from it. ( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \

To be serious, I guess you can just get the official accessories from either Nokia or Samsung. Only the cable should be pretty cheap.

Can't find the official one from Samsung. Will check with Nokia.

It is available from Samsung Official store. If just USB I bought it for RM48 (the shop said that is genuine from Samsung lol).
Genuine Note 5W charger (same with the one comes with the phone) is priced at RM99.

I'll go checkout the one at Gardens for it then.

For AP sets does it matter where the unit originated from? Or does it not matter and Kies only detects the country where you are located?

Kies will only detect the country of origin of the device.

So how can I check where my AP set originated from?

Take out your battery. There's a sticker underneath.

Sorry.. so what should I be looking at? I found the sticker but what is the indicator?

look for made in ??????

It says MADE BY SAMSUNG.

But what I want to know is whether where my AP set should have been originally released in. BTW is that what is important when ICS is released for different countries?

Your facts are a little off. AP sets are around 400-500 cheaper.

I don't see why not. Spend that 400-500 on accessories.  rclxms.gif

You're wrong. AP sets are only about 200-300 bucks cheaper than SME.
