Finally done flashing to ICS German ROM via Mobile Odin and flashed LPY kernel to obtain CWM again.
Entire process took 5 mins from flashing to welcome screen.
Full root maintained.

QUOTE(Cynox @ May 11 2012, 11:21 PM)
suddenly the bricking bug is taking over the show from official ICS release.  doh.gif  luckily all of us here manage to flash successfully.  Guess best to enjoy the newly flashed german rom at the moment and wait for the dust to settle down.  Except the absence of chinese input in local ROM (which can be easily solved by installing another keyboard), there is really nothing for me to complain about.  thumbup.gif

Back to play with my beloved Note.  biggrin.gif

Bro, have you actually heard news of people actually bricking their device?
I'd like to know if it's really true or just a myth.

Don't think he's gonna say directly that he bricked the phone from flashing.
He'll probably just said. Shit happens and now my phone cannot turn ON. Pls fix it. tongue.gif
*
Nothing wrong with flashing official firmware what.

Will Samsung know if we bricked our phone while flashing? Will they fix it?

Something hilarious will happen when a German user updates his phone and bricks it.

Your facts are a little off. AP sets are around 400-500 cheaper.

I don't see why not. Spend that 400-500 on accessories. rclxms.gif

SME sets are selling for RM1900 where as it's possible to get new AP sets at RM1500.

Do you have any on yours ? I noticed mine last night. And Im being an ass about it eventho its very tiny. Its hardly noticeable but during dark and the screen goes to all black after locked, there's one lit red dot. It goes away after the phone goes to deep sleep.
*
Nope, the stuck pixel isn't on my Note, but on my Blackberry.
But just ask here la, since this thread so active.

Im trying to run the pixel fixer, the one that runs few color continuously but I read somewhere it doesnt work on AMOLED, Im just giving it a try, if not I think gotta live with it, as its just a tiny speck, or might bring to Samsung but its frigging small tiny speck hehe.
*
If you read the fine print on the warranty card, you need to have like a few stuck pixels before you can claim the warranty.

You can try running those software, I've tried before already. Results wasn't good. This may sound stupid but I noticed that every morning when I wake up, the patch seems to be smaller.

So I've turned off my phone and now it's in the fridge at 3° C, I've checked on my phone during dinner just now and results seems to be quite encouraging.

Original you claim your warranty from any Samsung SC in Malaysia.
AP you claim from the shop you bought it from.

wow...2 days didn't check and it's almost v14... @..@
really way too fast this thread going... can't really catch up everything.

so everyone flashed the official german ICS? how's everything? read abit on xda that the new kernel is not safe too? hope i'm not missing anything here biggrin.gif
*
Not everyone. Interface feels laggy for those who were once on custom AOSP.
One brick reported so far on XDA.
