The CF root is only meant if you want to keep your device rooted after installing the ICS update.. If you dont want the root can live without LOL.

If you going for the pre rooted one you dont need this anymore.. It comes with it..
*
thanks for the explanation..coz my last SGN is rooted and then i've changed to a new set coz claim it under warranty..soo this new sets will try the ICS using pre-rooted ICS roms..but will try it on this evening..LOL~!

they are just spoilt by the slickiness of those custom ROMs.  laugh.gif  I like the German ICS very much - smooth and slick on my Note, will hold on to it until the next super ROM with SIII features expected next month.  biggrin.gif

Do test whether root is working as several users at XDA reported root fail to work - test with Titanium Backup, Root Explorer ( try delete and copy files to /system folder ) and Mobile Odin

Flash CF root kernel using Mobile Odin to get CWM. Download CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LPY-v5.3-CWM5.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784

However Chainfire just released his warning : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...&postcount=1322
Read it first before flashing

15 toggle zip : Search for it at XDA

Maybe you did not have full root. Did you test it with Root Explorer as suggested by me. Delete any unimportant file in /system folder eg any sound file and try copy paste a file to /system folder. If you cannot do it , means you did not have full root
In such a case use Mobile Odin Pro to reflash your rom
*
will try reflashing it using mobile odin pro...

You like several XDA users has basically lost root or the root is unstable
Download from market superuser and try again. Can you update the binary files of SU - launch the app , it will prompt you. If you can , no need to download superuser
If all still fail, reflash rom using Mobile Odin Pro
*
ok uncle, thanks..will try and do it..
