I got 1 stupid question to ask ... anybody know how to turn off the Pioneer double din player ? There's is no power button on the unit, the technician teach me to turn off the source using the "Off" button on the screen which bring me to demo mode / screen, then press "Mode" button to turn off screen. But it actually still on, just lcd off. When i stop engine n start again, it will turn off itself to initial demo screen. icon_question.gif

Most players nowadays dont have a power button to switch off. You just press and hold the SRC or Source button until it switches off or on. That's the common way for aftermarket players.

But hah ... for pioneer ... by doing then it just enter the demo mode n display the features sad.gif ... if just turn off engine, next time start engine it will auto on with demo mode. sweat.gif

Got ... i read it together with the shop technician, it mention nothing abt switching off the unit. He even called pioneer technician, n they just asked me to switch off the lcd during demo mode. doh.gif

Edit: I just cant believe that it dont have this most basic thing.

What about holding down the mode button?
*
U're right ... I think this is the way to turn it off. Off the source then hold the "Mode" button. But I think i got the faulty unit bcos by doing that, it show me white blank screen, need to switch ignition to off then on again to get back the screen. Can it be cause by the wiring ?

QUOTE(raimy_m9 @ May 7 2012, 11:59 PM)
how come it don't have..usually there's a setting that u can turn off demo..by turning off the demo...it won't show anything..standby mode
*
After few minutes play with it just now, manage to disable the demo, but that's not shutting down. Trying to upload to the video recorded just now to youtube.

I think this unit cannot power off the display at all.
For the mode, using mode also can access to the navigation screen.

Holding the Mode or SRC button in any situation will switch it off. The white screen that was displayed could mean a firmware issue with the player that can only be fixed by totally cutting power supply to the HU, and then reconnecting again (reset). I suggest you go back to the accessory shop that you bought it from and ask them to test the same thing you did with a similar model. If the same thing happened, check the firmware version. If the white screen doesn't show on the other unit, it's a problem with your unit.
Dei. I checked the link to see if it's working lah before creating the thread.. Apadah...
Prob is he said he tarak navigation. hmm.gif

Firmware issue can be fixed just by disconnect n reconnect ? Any idea how to check the firmware version ? Need to prepare my so b4 go there.

What I meant was, when the screen went white, the only thing you can do to fix the situation is to turn the keys, correct? When you turn the key to off, it disconnects power to the HU. But when you turn the key to ACC, the power reconnects again, then the white screen prob miraculously solved itself. Firmware you can check on the HU box, or under the Settings tab. I know for my Kenwood dual din, the firmware can be checked through that.

I see ... i will check that tomolo, thanks for ur help ! Time to goto bed n hope tomolo have good news! notworthy.gif

Edit: Btw, just to let u know, holding Mode in playing mode will only turn off the lcd, holding Mode when in Source Off seems like power off then later the white screen problem. Holding the SRC in playing mode will only switch to Source Off mode without power off n vice versa.

actually it is off...
pioneer got dis thing call demo mode that u can turn d feature off when the HU is off...
when d HU is off...u can go to the HU settings to off demo mode
When in demo mode, pressing Mode only will off the screen i think, bcos when u press Mode again the screen come back instantly.

Anyway, I believe with demo mode enabled, we cant turn the unit off, so i have disabled the demo mode. But now even worst, bcos when press Mode, the screen only display white empty screen, n when i press SRC, i still can listen to the radio with white screen.
