Maybe this comes too late. But I used PIC Simulator IDE from OshonSoft. Very good software though.. There have this trial version if i am not mistaken. I've used it before for my pic16f877 and pic18f452. Good to go smile.gif

CPP u mean .cpp files and also MPLAB (for PIC programming) ?

Are you using DevC++ from Bloodshed?

I think Microchip is quite a good thing to start with. They have a lot of sample codes. smile.gif Getting on a project soon?
