QUOTE(Kenzo17 @ May 7 2012, 02:16 PM) UM is located in the centre of the city (call me stupid but I forgot this when applying ) and near the forest. Chinese lecturers are bias. Also UM has the most chinese students.. Dont worry , no chinese lecturer for PASUM subjects except english which ist not counted in ur cgpa . and also no chinese student in pasum oso , all bumiputera . |

I'm not a bumi and not a straight A fella :@ Thanks for the info. Will dig it up for some readings later evening. There's a thread in EE for UMP, search it up. Just 20+ pages, you can read there. A lot of info's been posted (although its quite long ago, 2-3 years back). I wasnt a bumi nor straight A students too Went for form 6 today, doesnt feel very comfort with those school traditional rules and regulations |

QUOTE(bayleef10 @ May 8 2012, 10:11 AM) im a diploma 1st yr student of uthm, the course is cheap since its under Gov, allowance mintak ptptn or jpa or other loans/scholarship I got UTHM too but dip. in mechanical engineering and i have made decision to study there. Can you tell me what things that I can and cannot bring there like jeans or anything ? Is there always happen 'kecurian barang' ? also what type of baju, seluar and kasut that I can wear to classheard the degree can b shorten to 3years(initially 4 yrs) depending on ur result since some subjects can b transferred if u do well reputation, its quite ok for me. diploma pros : study few subjects at 1 sem and after tht u dun hav to take those subjects again. u can enjoy ur free time cz diploma timetable is quite flexible the course is easier compared to f6 Alevels and for uthm diploma is oni 2.5years shorter compared to other public u |

QUOTE(Krevaki @ May 26 2012, 12:37 PM) Wow, application outcome of Singaporean Universities came out in April/May. Malaysians have to wait until what, July? No wonder BRAIN DRAIN. Since ipta foundation end in April and their result is in May same as matriculation . The number of students who applied for UPU totally outnumbered Singaporean students who also applied for their degree . So , u should understand the situation here |

Hi Guys .
Recently (today) I checked my UPU application to further law degree in Public University . I applied for LLB at UIA,UKM,UM and UITM (All in Klang Valley) . I was offered LLB course at Universiti Utara Malaysia on which I didn't applied . But I'm grateful that I managed to get it because its hard to get into law degree programme in any public university in malaysia (because not much U offered law). But here is my problem , really hard . Currently I'm managing my own business in KL (no partner) which I built for years and growing bigger by day . an admission to UUM would mean I left my business terbengkalai and would suffer great loss from the business . Because before this I was a law foundation student at an IPTA in Selangor . So I managed to do both business and studying . I dont mind studying anywhere as long as I get a law degree because it is my passion to get a law degree , I'm sacrificing many things to get myself into path to get a law degree .So the only way that I can do are : 1. Appeal fora Changing the university(UUM) to public university around KL area which offer law degree(UIA,UKM,UM and UITM) 2.Go to private university 3.Go for UUM and left my business like that . so in my opinion for the options : 1. I hope I can get this , I know that this kind of thing happened before(without using cables/connection) but I didnt know how is the actual procedure . In UPU system I can't appeal online as I'm succeed in my application . Some people said just storm the Dean office haha . 2.First and foremost , its always about financial constraint . Although I own a business but its not sufficient to pay for my education. And my parent is a no-no on loan , because we suffered for 20 years because of my parent education debt (the reason I started to get my pocket money on my own by venturing into business at young age) . 3.This is the hardest part . I can go to UUM with a peace of mind and just forget about my business . There is no way for me to manage a business in KL from Kedah . And theres no one could manage my business as I don't trust peoples after conned few times , even immediate family members . I worked really hard since my first year of secondary school to build the business and recently the business went really good and have potential to be big once I graduated . This business is also the source of my financial support , as my parent are not the wealthy one , they only managed to give me RM50 or RM100 at most per month which is deemed unreasonable for college life . I can manage my time for business and study no problem . And I have this passion to get a Law Degree no matter how because I worked really hard for it during my secondary school and my law foundation studies (becoming a bookworm , nerd) . I know in life we have to give and take . In this situation , maybe I have to give up my business and pursue law study in UUM . But then when in my opinion , I might just continue my business and pursue law degree in public U in Klang Valley area as my take and with my business i might be a beneficial people to the community as a gift . Still , I'll have to work on this because I believe there are solutions on what I wanted because this thing happened before . I know we cant always get things as planned but it still not happened yet , because there's still hope And I hope you guys , sifu , guru-ji , master-ji , taikor all can help me by giving your opinion or if you have solution please PM me or post it here . I'm begging you guys to help me and you might change the course of an a not-really-fortunate man life path to be a better man in the future with just your opinions and thoughts Thank you and have a nice day |

QUOTE(budak_macho @ Jul 13 2012, 04:18 PM) so in my opinion for the options : Ever heard of PTPTN? Financial constraint always a dumb excuses not to study in any IPTA in Malaysia ... it's not in early 2000 where it's hard to get a loan and PTPTN. Just apply and you will get it. You will get hundred or even thousands extra for your pocket money.2.First and foremost , its always about financial constraint . Although I own a business but its not sufficient to pay for my education. And my parent is a no-no on loan , because we suffered for 20 years because of my parent education debt (the reason I started to get my pocket money on my own by venturing into business at young age) . If you feel you doesn't want to have a debt in the future, study hard and get a waiver. In facts, from the 1st semester till your final year, there are over dozen of scholarship opportunities. Depends on how your cope up with your study, CGPA, attitude during interview ... and etc. |

QUOTE(budak_macho @ Jul 13 2012, 04:18 PM) I was in the same situation before (but not because of business la), got UUM and wanting a uni around Klang valley. I asked this ipta uni (low rank, should be easy to get) if i can enter it instead of UUM. My diploma pointer is >>3.5 cgpa. And they told me that you need a surat/any doc that say you dont enroll into UUM, and then only re-apply back at the uni that u want. You can't straight jump ship. But since it's risky to reject UUM and needing to re-apply back the uni, I didn't do it. You need to try to trust somebody to manage the business if you intend to enroll there. Maybe your parents (surely you should trust your parents at least). And direct any business matters via phone. Actually, I have a question.
We did the applications for UPU and USM separately, so logically we should be able to secure 2 offers as long as your results are good enough. When the results came out, only a few of my friends got 2 offers even though almost everyone made 2 applications. How did it end up like this? |

All others still check through UPU. When I say UPU offer, I mean they get offer from universities other than UPU. Most of us get either UPU or USM. Clear? |

But when the results came out, you check through UPU. |

QUOTE(Speed16 @ Jul 14 2012, 02:15 PM) Well i think i have same situation with him, so let me explain what's going on. Other than the fact that most over here got UPU offer instead of USM , yep, sounds just right. Most of my friend, including me, we applied for USM besides upu. Many of us got offer from USM only but not upu, 3 of my friend got offer from both usm and upu. The rest got offer from upu only. Is that similar to your situation Krevaki? You can check the result for all courses offered by USM at USM website. Just login with your reference number and password like last time when you fill the application. |
