Not for a job per se, but during selection for specialist training, yes - I was interviewed by my direct supervisor, to see if he would endorse my application. When the application was endorsed, I was then interviewed by my head of department. Then, it got escalated to the Chairman of the Medical Board of my hospital, before moving upward to the Specialty Training Committee. The 3rd interview isn't one that normally occurs - but, because I wasn't a Singaporean, my HOD and the CMB wanted a commitment that I would not train and cabut after the training.

So, in essence, that was 4 rounds of interviews... and gallons of sweat lost from the nervous sweating!

May I ask what you meant about "leaving the medical line for a long time"? Do you mean having left as a doctor? As long as you've kept your registration intact with the relevant authorities, you should have no issue restarting work. I'm sorry, I'm not entirely familiar with lab support work - so I better not mention anything that may be wrong info.

Hello. I personally feel that the healthcare sector (be it the front line staff like doctors and nurses, or those playing a supporting role - like diagnostic/lab personnel) is one of the more resilient sectors out there - resilient, not resistant to economic challenges.

However, I really cannot comment on salaries, as I'm not in the exact same field as you are. I'm pretty sure that if you were to re-enter the medical field, you'd be more than welcome!
