Remember, what you wear will reflect yourself and how people see you - in this case, the interviewer. In terms of interview attire - my advice for male candidates usually:

*pants - solid dark color - black, navy or dark grey (so, it is ok to wear grey, as long as it has dark tone)
*long sleeve shirt - white (try lines instead of plain shirt) or coordinated with the pants
*belt - if you wear dark grey pants and white shirt, belt must be solid black or dark brown
*shoe - coordinate with belt

Hi booby,

Anything that distracts your interviewer from evaluating you based on your skills/experience/background, then you shouldn't go there. In a professional environment, guys with earrings will not be perceived well. Keep it simple, if you are a man, avoid accessories - nose rings, unusual piercings, earrings, necklace. One ring is enough, if you are married.

Extra note:

Watch is a must! Do you know that the personality of a man can be translated through his watch? So, wear a professional/executive looking watch, no need to be expensive - and AVOID those with cartoon design, please..
