my interview was last week thursday.. HR called to ask bout something last tuesday.. still waiting for further news.. but the interviewer did ask me to wait for 1/2 weeks..

there is a few hints whether you get the job or not based on my experience.

1) asking when you can start after confirmation
2) negotiating about your expected salary (if it is in their range)
3) calling back really quickly after the interview (some company may appear really large but if they really wanna hire you, they will call u ASAP)
4) Waiting period is depending on the job position available, if you are able to know how many vacancies is empty and how many people are interviewing, you can roughly know how long you should wait.

Based on own experience, I called my HR within one week after my final interview, they told me they need time to proceed. So, I told them to reply me asap since i have a pending offer waiting and I am prioritizing your company. If they really want you, they will hire you. So just call and ask.

thanks for the hints.. but still a 50:50% chances..

1) asking when you can start after confirmation - HR did ask me this after the interview
2) negotiating about your expected salary (if it is in their range) - didnt talk about it but the expected salary i included in my resume was quite a big jump from my current basic salary
3) calling back really quickly after the interview (some company may appear really large but if they really wanna hire you, they will call u ASAP) - HR called (havent confirm giving me the job) 2 working days after the interview..
4) Waiting period is depending on the job position available, if you are able to know how many vacancies is empty and how many people are interviewing, you can roughly know how long you should wait. - they are hiring approx 20 ppl but im not sure how many they had hired/interview..

i think i will give them a call maybe today or tomorrow..

actually dont need to worry about your salary jump, if they willing to hire you, they will nego with you once they confirm. Anyways, calling them is absolutely fine as both parties do not want to waste each other time. So you can get a clearer picture of your job acceptance than waiting blindly for weeks which you can use it to search for other potential job. However, if they did mention to you the time range of calling, you should call when it is in their "time range". good luck~~

Nandeska, I decided to end the wait and drop the HR personnel an email. They replied saying that they are currently processing my package.. Guess it's a good news?
*
honestly speaking, processing your package can meant by reviewing your acceptance or processing you into the company. As usual, when you get out of the interview room, you yourself should be able to tell whether you got the job or not. Trust your guts, it is correct all the time. Looking at the interviewer face is able to tell you whether u get it or not.

The Sr manager actually said I could fit well in the team based on my personality n experience and the manager had agreed on it as well..

since this is not your first job, why worrying that much ? based on what you are saying, there should be no problem.

cos this is quite a big company, one of the big 4.. and i really want to join in cos it will help a lot in my career progression..

To think logically, you have already did what you have to do and whats done is done. Dont worry about it if you get it means you are worthy of it. If you dont, it means that you are not worthy enough yet. So dont worry too much. Life still goes on.

Hi guys, Im currently in a dilemma. I went to an interview last Friday and I asked when can I hear from them. The interviewer said in 2-3 days. So the problem here is I am currently having an offer from another company and I said to them Ill give the answer this Friday. Should I ask the first company for answers today since tomorrow is ph? If I dont get the job, then I can accept the second one and not make them wait. Please help. Thanks!
*
just call the company that you prioritize and tell them your situation, they are able to give you an answer asap, just go for the job that you prioritize and drop the one you dont really like, since its your second choice means it is not that important anyways right ? gl
