Hmmm usually interviewers take that as something that's required from us. I bring extra copies but I only pass 1 copy to the interviewer (along with photocopy certs, transcripts etc).

Bboy Dora>> Doesn't matter. Bring new copy and tell them that this is the updated version.

Something was wrong with JobStreet. I obviously uploaded the new resume but somehow when other ppl download it, they'll see the old version. What happened was - in one of my interview last week - I saw the old version of my resume in front of both the interviewers (2 guys - each had a copy). Then they had to share the updated version I passed to them. You know, actually I had another copy in my file but the scene was so funny (for some reason, which I don't know why), I forgot to gave it to them.

...and I really had to keep a straight face from laughing.

No idea why you resigned before getting another job and what you've been doing... how to offer advice?

It doesn't matter. As a matter of fact, you will want to let the interviewer know that you were busy doing something worthwhile and active, regardless of whether you resigned, or being asked to leave or being terminated, and for whatever reason.

What they want is honesty in play here. As long as you come up with some explanations, it will be fine. You can just say you do some book readings, participated in community service, giving free tutor to your sister's in law children, so on and so forth while actively job seeking.

Regards, Joey

p.s: Just don't give the impression that you've been lazing around like a mutt during the "free days."

Here's a sample for you to refer. Please note that when you send a thank-you email, keep it short and direct to the point. Do also include in your interest of the position because this is your last chances to sell the employer that you are the perfect person for the job. I encourage you to send it within 24 hours after interview.

---------------------------------

Hi (name of interviewer),

Good morning!

I would like to thank you for the time spent to discuss possible opportunity between myself and (the company name) yesterday. I found that the position is ideally suited to my background and interests. If given the chance, I assure you that I will give you my best effort in making this an effective position within your company.

I am eager to bring my previous experiences and passion to your company. I am convinced the knowledge, skills, and experience I've already achieved make me the best candidate for the job. Again, I appreciate your time for the job interview, and I look forward to be a part of your company in the near future.

Thanks and Regards,

(Your name)
(Your contact number)
(Your email)

---------------------------------

**Remember to address the thank-you email with the correct spelling and title of the interviewer, as well as the proper spelling of the organization.

Dear Mamet,

Remember, what you wear will reflect yourself and how people see you - in this case, the interviewer. In terms of interview attire - my advice for male candidates usually:

*pants - solid dark color - black, navy or dark grey (so, it is ok to wear grey, as long as it has dark tone)
*long sleeve shirt - white (try lines instead of plain shirt) or coordinated with the pants
*belt - if you wear dark grey pants and white shirt, belt must be solid black or dark brown
*shoe - coordinate with belt

GOOD LUCK for your interview!

Hi booby,

Anything that distracts your interviewer from evaluating you based on your skills/experience/background, then you shouldn't go there. In a professional environment, guys with earrings will not be perceived well. Keep it simple, if you are a man, avoid accessories - nose rings, unusual piercings, earrings, necklace. One ring is enough, if you are married. smile.gif

Extra note:

Watch is a must! Do you know that the personality of a man can be translated through his watch? So, wear a professional/executive looking watch, no need to be expensive - and AVOID those with cartoon design, please..

Good luck for your interview!

Hope that answered your question.

Hi booby, it will have to depend on the INDUSTRY/ JOB that you're interviewing for. Eg. if you're a fashion designer or in the fashion industry, I don't see any harm. As a matter of fact, you'll need to dress 'different' to impress the interviewer because action speak louder than words under these circumstances.

On the other hand, in any other industries or white collar positions, it's advisable for you to restrain from doing so. Dress smartly to impress and show your professionalism.

if u wear, u wear. take off for wat.

are u gonna stop wearing if u join this new job? if yes then attend the interbiu.

if not, just go as urself since its an expression of who u r and u need to express that.

It's alright to be honest. Thing is, not wearing them to interview shows some sort of respect towards the company and interviewer.

You can always say that you're looking forward to new challenges. Also mention that you do not want to limit yourself etc~
