i already brought epson me340 with also 3rd party ink catridge + refill cost me rm410. Using refill ink the photo quality very bad become more "blue" in color , using original ink the output quality not meet my expectation , brightness low, see on monitor ok but output brightness low. Is is any setting wrong...anybody know? I'm using gloosy inkjet photo paperby maxprint.
You will need to perform color correction on the printer settings. Example of the settings panel below... hmm.gif

Sorry out of topic here...my lil bro wants to get one for his personal business as well, and he's looking forward for Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P205b..
Btw, i've seen some of the specs and it stated that the engine life (30,000 pages or 5 years) and duty cycle (20,000 papers /month)...what are those actually mean? mind to explain a little bit?

Right now 2015 , which ink printer is water resistance ? CISS ?
I hope to print out photos which resist or waterproof

And why some photo paper is smooth while some doesn't

Water resistance ink have, but expensive and if wan CISS will have many operational problem.

Epson have printer using DURABrite Ultra which water resistance but not for CISS.
HP also have but I'm familiar with its product.
Me using Canon for decades but alas Canon is too costly and prone to damage/problems.

Depends what you wan, photo print out on glossy paper looks 'sharper n Brighter' vs matt paper print out.
Matt paper print out will not attract finger prints and have a 'softer' tone.

You prints out is for what use? make money? hmm.gif

DarkNite Using CISS , the cheap IP printer head keep getting damage with line and etc.

I plan to print document and some out of it with photo for holidays.

Which printer is suitable for water resistant ?

Technically , i guess there's no cheap solution for water resistant ink except using laser toner ?

As for photo paper , What kind of photo paper does those photo printing store using ? it it's glossy paper and smooth like.

For occasional printing, just buy any low cost printer will do.
B' cos I do not know the numbers of papers you print, my initial suggestion will be Epson EXPRESSION ME-301.

Without know that volume of papers used, it is not cost effective to buy water resistance and higher range photo printers. More over it is not a commercial venture.

Maybe it is better for you to scan the net for offers for 'coffee table or photo book'
Google it up wink.gif

Last time i work in PC fair for fuji xerox, so my suggestion for you is to get a printer which uses laser instead of inkjet.
because laser printers uses toner and all the printouts are waterproof!

Benefits of Toner based printers:
1,Ink Saving
2,Never clogs(because toner is powder based)
3,Waterproof
4,Beautiful colors

*in fact, all fuji printers uses an even newer tech for their printers, S-LED tech, which replaces the conventional laser.
*There are only two manufacturers using the S-LED tech, Fuji Xerox and Oki.

DarkNite Sorry for not specify my printing. It's for occasional printing.
Sometimes once a month , I print a 400 pages book adding up max 500 pages a month for black and white.Few vol books a year.

Sometimes carrying books around during rain maybe be a risk.

Once a while , will print out 50 piece of holiday photos .

Now , the option i have is

Books = laser mono
Photo = Inkjet

Does photo water resistant paper expensive ?

It is the ink and printer that is expensive.

If print B&W and wants water resistance then of cos it should be Laser but toner is expensive.
Suggest HP LaserJet Pro P1102 - workhorse of many business and offices.

I'm using Epson L210 CISS.
It is for printing educational worksheet and reference materials - both in B&W and color, but the cost is borne by the students.
My volume is averaging 1000 sheets a month.

Suggest you buy one printer as you are bearing the cost unless you can afford 2 different type.

Brother but then the most popular and after-market toner is HP.
Small town also no problem.

Touch wood, so far no problem as I'm using their original ink.
Haven't change the head yet, so dunno how much.
