QUOTE(konichiwawa @ Jun 14 2012, 11:42 AM) I wonder if people realise that Powell is a signing for the future. I seriously doubt he'll get many first team opportunities this season. Why do people think that since Nick Powell and Kagawa have signed, we now need to get rid of midfielders (i.e. Ando and Park). Kagawa doesn't even play in midfield, he's either a winger or a withdrawn striker. Powell's only 18 years old and hasn't even played a single minute of Championship football, what more Premier League football. He's going to take a few more years to develop. It's a squad rotation game, you don't only need 11 players or 11+7 reserves. Exactly, i was thinking the same thing.I think we will be playing a 4-2-3-1 system next season or remain as 4-3-3 Lets say all our midfielders are fit. We have Carrick, Fletcher, Ando, Clev, Giggs, Scholes, Park, Kagawa who can all play in that CM position. Powell i don't think SAF will throw him into the deep end.. Maybe only when he has fully been integrated and proven himself in training then perhaps he will get his chance? I do hope Fletcher and Ando returns to full fitness next season. I think we miss their tenacity and energy at times. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Jun 14 2012, 04:30 PM) That's very true. In all likelihood, Powell is a replacement for Pogba. Trouble with a 4-4-1-1 position is sacrificing the partnership between Rooney and Wellbeck if SAF plans to play Kagawa in that "hole" position. Playing Wellbeck on the wing is a waste as we have our wingers for that. I disagree. I'm guessing SAF will stick with the 4-4-1-1 formation. The only question is whether the style of play will be like the start of the season with Anderson Cleverley or end of the season with Scholes Carrick. The biggest problem with Anderson, to me, is that he keeps getting injured. It's really something that needs to be sorted out. That aside, I think Anderson has done well enough to at least be considered a squad player. So I see no real reason to get rid of him. It's funny how we have slightly forgotten about Chica. Okay he had a stop start 2nd season. I hope with proper rest this summer he'll reach the heights of his 1st. Not forgetting Berbatov which im slightly confused why is he omitted from the starting 11 in the first place. Sure he's slow but he certainly gives us plenty of options. I guess we shouldn't question the boss. Ando situation, I just hope he proves critics wrong when he comes back fighting fit. I really wanted to see Ando + cleve partnership blossom |

I'm so happy for Welbz.. He has taken his chances well.
Hopefully Roy will play Rooney and Welbz up front.. They need to attack attack attack to win the group to avoid Spain |

QUOTE(rbntr @ Jun 19 2012, 11:38 AM) Although unrelated to us, you seriously need to pity the Blackburn fans, having to put with relegation isn't bad enough, now they have to deal with poultry owners and Shebby's ramblings Oh my god My comments on the new fixture list.. Looks decent.. I just hope we don't get serious injuries mid way through the season which is unlikely |
