For your info. Young played more on the left more than any other position whether its for aston villa and manutd(I think that's his best position - yes he played the role behind the striker more often during last season before leaving villa.).Look at wingers these days, robben, ribery, ronaldo, messi...they play roles as unorthodox wingers. Do u actually think that we should sign adam johnson to play left-wing just because he is a left-footed player? Do u actually think he is better than ashley young and nani at that particular position?Hmm.
What's the problem with nani? He used to play left midfield when he first arrived at manutd. And nowadays he's has been changing flanks. So you think adam johnson plays better than nani on the left flank?
And for your info again, kolarov is on the sub most of the time as well since when did he become man city's first choice left midfield?. It's DAVID SILVA not kolarav. It's clichy who's been playing on the left flank alongside david silva. If u actually watch adam johnson playing, he scores goals from the right side most of the time.
P/S: There's no such thing as true left winger. It's called unorthodox/orthodox wingers. Example: Unorthodox left-wingers (right-footed)(Robinho, Ribery, Ashley Young) Orthodox wingers(Ryan giggs)
Maybe u have your point. Sorry if im being too harsh.
nah no problem, just having a discussion here.
woops my bad on the Kolarov part. I was aware of Clichy being on the left side of defence, but I forgot who kept playing on the left side of attack.
adam johnson is a good addition because it brings more depth to the squad. nani and young were off form, and we had to rely on Giggs, which most of us know, he does not operate well on the wings like his golden days anymore, he should be better off in the center.
i'm not saying young and nani cannot play left, but it's not their natural position. why put a player not in his natural position (but if they perform fantastic, then i have nothing to say la). young and nani both are fantastic players, no doubt, but having adam johnson will be an interesting mix to the wingers list.
and also on your young point, of course he's played more on the left. who else can play there? we got no one else. SAF had to play him there despite his right-footedness.
i maybe used the term incorrectly, because what I meant was a player playing on the side with his best foot. i might have overreacted the term true left winger though.
