hello there, I would like to ask a question.

I have been going to gym regularly for the past few weeks. Usually my body will feel the pain a day after workout. Yesterday i did some benchs and other workouts for chest and triceps. Today i woke up and i didnt feel any pain at all at my hand and only abit at my chest.

Does that mean my muscle didnt grow, or it's just that I've gotten used to it so DOM doesnt appear?

From my opinion ur muscle already gotten used 2 it..u will feel back the DOMS when ur workout become more

extensice than b4..so it been advised u increase the weight so ur workout does not become static hence bottleneck ur

muscle growing..just my 2 cents.please correct me if I'm wrong

Don't measure progress with DOMS. The mirror and tape measure are far better methods to see if you're growing or not.

So, it's not necessary to get DOMS after every intense workout? Thanks Dan.

True. I rarely got any DOMS especially on my leg. The only time that I got a DOMS from a workout is when I tried a new exercise or totally push myself (caffeine + red bull works for me) or I haven't workout for a long time. But still, I'm seeing all kinds of gains

It's Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, not Syndrome...gosh, you made it sound like a disease...

lol...

Added on August 24, 2012, 11:42 pmto prevent DOMS, take a cold bath(with ice) in a tub if you can for few minute after working out.. after the cold bath straight away take a warm bath... that should do the trick.

but if u have doms already hot cream/oil plus with a bit streaching and warm bath to flush out the lactic acid buildup in your muscle.

and please plenty of water to help removing the acid buildup.
