QUOTE(oldKyoo @ May 5 2012, 01:04 PM) On the plus side= Ive seen more people using their dslr or compact cameras taking food photos than just a smartphone. prove me wrong in that essence. depends on where they wanna post it.. I have seen more food pictures on facebook taken with handphones instead. however in websites and blogs, mostly dominated by better cameras of course. Not sure? Open your facebook, click on picture tab and do the counting. not sure if anyone posted before as i recall nobody posted.
some comparison in detail into things that ppl often overlook when comparing HOX vs S3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...ource=pulsenews a few key points to take note will be the camera sensor, audio chip, video capability, the 128-bit GPU bandwidth, sensors |

QUOTE(silencer @ May 7 2012, 12:10 AM) Thank you for the link, the pictures taken through s3 are really awesome, and I believe this will surprise with the comparison, i believe s3 is a total win towards hox.. hopefully other ppl will realise this and stop bashing. lots of people once more testing is done, and nothing can be said about the audio and video features, as this is already considered an audiophile music transport for me |

QUOTE(KuLi @ May 7 2012, 12:20 AM) spoiler is only used when the picture is not well resized for viewing.spoiler is also used when u wanna quote ppl's picture. so when u quote my picture, pls spoiler it ok? my post is justified because the picture size is just nice for viewing and it saved other ppl's time to click to view for the first time. now, go edit yr post. Added on May 7, 2012, 12:26 am QUOTE(droid13579 @ May 7 2012, 12:22 AM) This is the mentality of a hulk~ that one will be the white balance. different sensor, n software. hence the difference in judging the white balance, which can be corrected no worries.Just ignore him, select the "Ignore" button If it wants to wait for professional reviews, stay tune on June. Anyway, The left pic looks... bluish? Right look blurish ~ the sample picture shows the sharpness between s3 and s2. which can be used as a good reference. the downside of the camera is the lens aperture at f2.6 only. but adequate for normal usage. erm.. aperture means the opening of the lens to allow light to enter and hitting the sensor. the bigger the aperture, the better the low light performance by allowing more light to enter
the f number shows the aperture size, the smaller the number, the bigger the aperture size because it is an inverse function. however, bigger aperture also means narrower depth of field (DOF), the blurring background that u see in pictures taken by DSLR (big sensors), but for tiny sensors like smartphone sensors, it will not affect much. Hence, in smartphone/handphone terms, bigger aperture means better low light performance, less prone to handshake bcz the shutter speed is faster for the same exposure value when compare to a smaller aperture shot. bit long to digest, but that's basically what it means. the smaller the better for the f number. Pictures to help u understand. ![]() |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ May 7 2012, 08:53 AM) hi guys... though i have no real interest in S3, but every now and then, i do see remark by people that "quad core, etc not very useful since apps dun utilise all quad core". yes u can say so. the codes in the program itself need to instruct the program to utilise other threads available in the processor otherwise it will just run only on one core. actually, how accurate is such statement? must there be specific coding by the dev to utilise all cores? or is this something that the OS will handle instead? honestly, i've been hearing this statement since dual core came out and i won't be surprised if the same is said when we have 8 cores, 16 cores, etc... but i think for modern software and apps, they ady embedded codes to fully utilise any available cores. i will leave this to the IT experts to add on. |

QUOTE(WiLyi @ May 7 2012, 02:46 PM) Yes, indeed it is a great features. But if not mistaken some apps like browser will allow you to have the screen to stay on as long as you are on the app. Not sure on ebook or ereader browser? my browser will dim when left idle.so far only video apps, some ebook reader apps and some games will remain on as long as it's on the app, others will dim.. |
