actually what is the point of having wireless charging if the phone still need to put on the dock (or whatever you called it)..since the phone can only be charged when it is on the dock, might as well use normal cable to charge, as we still can move the phone around within the cable distance...

if the wireless charging concept is something like wifi..then we will talk  cool2.gif
*
I don't see any point yet, unless it like WiFi like you said, but I think it green enough by creating these wave to charge the phone.
if need to put at dock, I prefer plug the cable and get the charge done in 1 hour, rather than put there and wait for 5 hours to charge.

Frankly it is just gimmick by Samsung which is wildly hyped up by the fanboys.
If it is need inside the cradle then what's the point?
Hopefully the other feature are not a dissapointmt as well.

dunno know how to google about it, lol

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ May 13 2012, 02:10 AM)
you can charge other phones on it.....provided if samsung release a compatible backplate for the model
*
maybe haha
just wait and see biggrin.gif
normally can, lol

QUOTE(Harddisk @ May 13 2012, 02:40 AM)
There are a few advantages of having wireless charging over cable:
1) charge without connecting the cable. Sometimes it's kinda difficult to get it in if you are not looking. Especially if you are using cases where it has protector rubber plugs that goes into the usb port on the phone.
2) You can reserve the cable for data transfer/adb related stuff when connected to your phone. Not sure if it would speed up the charging though.
3) usb connector at the bottom of the phone is quite inconvenient, at least for me. I have to use my phone rotated 180 deg. With wireless charging, I can have my phone laid flat in any orientation.
4) no more unplugging the cable if there is incoming call and your charging cable was not long enough. Just pick it up off the charging pad and answer. Put it back and it charges again. How convenient is that?
*
1) no comment
2) can use wifi to transfer, example airdroid
3) no comment
4) when I charge my phone sure turn on airplane mode, lol. Furthermore, very less people call me

at last, will see how it works 1st then only decide whether want to buy it or not

Yup, give it a year or two. Then the tech will be more mature. It's actually sth good, allows them to push themselves further

I got to know wireless charging from Palm Pre, back in the year 2009. For me its not a gimmick but a rather convenient way to charge our phone. Drop them on a station and tada...start charging, no need to look for the cable & figure out which way to plug in

Sometime all the new features are a goodies cuz considering s3 is d first one to let us try it in a mass way so surely there is some risk if d feature might not work, but still a noteworthy effort by samsung.

honestly, S3 is the first android that from all that i've seen that hype more on software than hardware, i think the smartphone technology is already at its peak right now.

but kudos to samsung for creating all that, then just here the phone with the same spec as another phone with no added benefit.

ignore the green baboon you can see his post from profile, he keep on saying apple above all, but still lurking in android i dont know for what.

8 minutes into the clip and he's still talking about the build n design of the phone LOL...

about how normal piece of glossy plastic it is, how mediocre it feels in the hand,

its decent but not great either. i think bland is the word. but 8 minutes about the outlook, i bet even h1x also didnt hit 8 minutes on exterior design alone lol

beside he lock the screen n touch the screen , i tot it was a dummy set !! lol man, doesnt the phone look like a toy..

samsung want to emulate apple success by emphasizing on software prowess and up the overall user experience that they lack rather than hardware so i guess thats why this time samsung approach on hardware specs has been gentle and not so overrated like s2.

companies only look at normal users. not enthusiast like us

for us, we gain more from hardware specs instead of stock software

i think the winner will be the one that perfects the siri interface. seriously. the next revolution after multitouch must be voice. that's how we have always been communicating before any of this. if iphone 5 just focus on one thing - to make siri perfect, i would be sold at hello.
