i agree on that.. but glad to see the camera performance is better with less noise. htc only wins when it comes to lower light with advantage of F2.0

finally have some feedback regarding the battery life and it didn't disappoint. Man, 10 hours of video play back.. that's tablet level battery life yo!

How dummy is dummy? As far as I know, That can be a real demo unit. Please don't forget about the S3 unit have to test at here before launch in Malaysia.

Take a look at this picture, it shows the displays of SIII and One X under a microscope:


You'll notice the following:
1. SIII's Pentile display has a RGBG pixel arrangement (Red-Green-Blue-Green)
2. One X's display has a RGB pixel arrangement (Red-Green-Blue)

On the Pentile screen, each green sub-pixel shares a red and blue sub-pixel with another green sub-pixel.
This makes it having lower pixel density compared to the SLCD2 in One X.

Regarding the brightness, since LCDs do not produce light themselves, they require a backlight.
Amoleds on the other hand require no backlight as each pixel produces its own light.
LCDs have backlight on even when displaying black colour but the pixel in Amoleds just switches off, hence the deep black. This results in higher brightness/nits in LCDs displays.

I could be wrong here, correct me in case there're mistakes, especially on the brightness which I'm not so sure

You are exactly correct : ). Best for video playback. Finally, samsung realized that important of video playback and I have weird hobby, I prefer to play video on my phone.

yes.. u can notice that, no matter browsing or video. the HOX battery will die off pretty quickly with less than 6hours on screen time.

but for S3, due to the nature of AMOLED, where the white consumes more battery and black saves more juice. the browsing time is less due to more white pixels, but the video playback is longer due to more darks than white..

i dono what the big fuss about pentile vs the others. maybe some are really fussy, but with me bare eyes i can't notice the pentile formation. to me the quality looks great. of course if u compare side by side u might notice some subtle differences. but why does it matter? really to the layman like me why does it matter?

(btw, i am trying to justify whether i'll choose other phones over the sgs3 because of screen)

Yup, but still longer than One X No battery? Just switch to a spare!!

With the 720p display, the difference will only be at the microscopic level.. Too bad some people just have to bring this up because there's nothing else they can. Layman(which is most of Samsung's customers out there) won't even bother
