Hello, I planning to buy mechanical keboard, recently too many to choose coz lot of brand ady have mecha keboard...my list now wud be filco, ducky n SS, razer? nahh go away lol...I prefer gaming spec keboard which ppl others forum suggesting black switches but i so tempting when looking at SS keyboard which they offer plated gold switches..so is it worth to buy SS (6gv2or 7gv2) or filco n ducky is far better than it?

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jun 6 2012, 08:24 PM) Don't fall into the trap of so called "gaming" mechanical keyboard. It is basically just a mechanical keyboard with some redundant functions/specs. Infact, some of them even lack/sacrificed some of the so called "gaming" specs(Razer BW only 2KRO, Corsair K60/90 is a mix of rubber dome)... Oh ok, but dunno cherry mx act using gold plate In short, all brand should be OK, as long as it is having a good built quality. SS, Filco and other famous mech kb OEM are having quite good and solid built quality. Though, SS isn't much popular around here because it is having limited switches/layout choices unlike other brands like Leopold/Ducky/Filco. Also, SS keyboards are somehow overpriced too. Black switch is more famous because it is older and longer in the market. Some gamers like it's tactileless(linear) feel and fast actuation(less than 2mm). But most important is to get the type of switch which suit your typing/gaming style, so better try them out to be sure. BTW, all Cherry MX switches are gold plated... Added on June 7, 2012, 12:37 am QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 6 2012, 10:01 PM) Black switches are way harder than Red switches. IMO, you cannot really feel that you are pressing the keys with Red switch. Black switch requires more force than Red. yeah??? so red switches is more smooth than black la? red switch is clicking one right? This post has been edited by dragorc: Jun 7 2012, 12:37 AM |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jun 10 2012, 02:32 AM) Because it is made by Cherry, the maker of the switches itself, trololol. One reason is that Cherry is a German company, thus their products are known/labeled as top notch in quality. oh ok now i get it, tq for good explanations....is there any brand tat closed to the cherry itself, in term of build quality n performance?Ppl getting it because its quality and PCB mounting. Nope, the only boards which used topre are Realforce and HHKB2 Pro, which are both real expensive... Added on June 10, 2012, 7:46 amis it red is worth to get? coz i read, red n black switches is for gaming purpose n I do want to buy mech kb for gaming...i play a lot rts n dota games so really wanna kb that can suit well in my type of games...I do play FPS oso... QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Jun 11 2012, 09:24 PM) From your words, they clearly shows you've done your homework, just some minor minor details error from ur pov which stabilizer is good cherry or costar? what so important to know about these stabilizer act? Im a hardcore gamer, is it can affect my gaming so much?Well, regarding the spacebar compatibility problem.. Leopold is the one who has problem.. whereas Filco and Ducky doesn't have that problem. so far, most of the after-market spacebars could fit both standard and leopold's Whether Ducky's Cherry stabilizer or Filco's Costar stabilizer... it's a matter of personal preference, some prefer costar's, some prefer cherry's It's up to you bro |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jun 11 2012, 10:10 PM) Cherry stabilizers and Blue switches are bad. ur race kb really looks nice, I love the compactness of the keyboard...Otherwise, it's pretty much okay if you don't care much. I'd tell you more about lubed switches and how it affects feeling on the Cherry stabilizers but you'd probably do not want to care as much. |

QUOTE(kaysa @ Jun 21 2012, 10:20 AM) But to be honest, Topre switch is not for everyone, some person in Geekhack, ok bro will keep it secret haha....hmm no matter if the keyboard will suite me or not coz I never own mecha, so decide tat will go for topre..coz im tinkin cherry switch ady so many around here so its worth to try they buy Realforce 87, and then decide to sell them off in the same day they got it. Its best to try it before you buy it, but in Malaysia I don't think there is any shop that allow you to try...... Epiguru can let you try them, if you go to Singapore or Penang. And if you really want to buy from me, I can let you try my HHKB, My price for the HHKB Pro 2 already told you last time right? Still unchange do not post it out here. |
