Just adding to what Human10 said about UK pricing on more mainstream boards, pricing of IBM buckling springs keyboards (e.g. IBM Model M) is NOT superior in the UK, i.e. after condition of the board is taken into account. The range of BS keyboards in the UK is also quite poor. In fact, people there have approached me to buy a Model M.

If I was going to buy any keyboard in the UK, it will probably be a programmable keyboard, e.g. Access, Devlin or Preh. Some are available to UK residents at decent prices.

Oh right, forget that they actually having Access kb and also Devlin. sweat.gif

i doubt i'll be going back there because most APLS i've found are in klang (i'm in pj), and we've just solved most of their problem there.
here's some info i have from the previous case i've done:

- hong leong has a lot of old ibm kb, might have chance to bump into a model M in the future
- am bank has the most acer alps black, but not sure if it's still functioning.
- uob has some old ibm, dell and acer kb, might have some nice stuff there

most of the kb turned yellowish already but there's still some method to clean it up. haven't tried it though :/

LOL, kb from banks are probably very very very much worn out already... sweat.gif

Leopold claim that 700R has 21-KRO on USB and NKRO on p/s2. sweat.gif

The final product is still very "keycool"ish(USB21KRO, multimedia keys, gold plate USB cable, USB to ps2 adapter and so on) to me... hmm.gif
Wonder if keycool is still involved in any/some parts of the kb... hmm.gif

LOL what, I don't think there is anybody purposely buy a FC700R just to steal over the spacebar and place it on FC500R, right? sweat.gif

Kaysa, regarding your dyeing adventure, in order to achieve a more safe heating environment, i suggest you double boil it instead of boiling it directly. Reason why is that while the water might be 60C temp, the side walls of the pot which is conducting the full heat will be much hotter. Double boiling will solve this problem.
Btw double boiling, if you dont know, is basically using the heat from a boiling water's steam to heat the inner pot. It is still safe to continously it though, to prevent touching the walls for too long tongue.gif.

Also, I'm looking for engraved white PBTs too. Want to tumpang a purchase from Taobao together? =D. I actually just need everything except the tenkey, F row, arrow cluster and insert/delete cluster tongue.gif

As i mention a few times, Leopold Manufacturer on China violated their contract and sold the design/blueprint to Keycool, which is why keycool is able to have same PCB designs of Leopold FC700, but different manufacturer.

Why Keycool sells so cheap? No need to design, hired staff for R&D development, and scripting for keyboard, they only stolen the designs and started selling. Not that i wanted to offense Keycool in anyway, but their doing seriously pissed me off.

As for Leopold now, i'm not allow to disclose anymore information regarding about this, because China and Korea Leopold HQ are furious regarding about this currently.
*
I had totally got the whole copy pasta story behind.

But what keep me curious and skeptical now is "why do Leopold still use or sell parts made by keycool, namely the USB wires and ps2 adapter I stated previously and also those lavender wasd or rgb modifiers which are carried by both Leopold's official site and EliteKeyboard...

The reviewer mentioned 6kro under usb in the link...

I thought he say the board is 21kro, but he also couldn't care more about it as 6kro is already enough.
BTW, not everytime everything stated officially is all correct. SO the best is to try out first.

Thanks for the info, i'm not aware of thisĀ  notworthy.gif

But those Parts are still not manufactured by Keycool, please do keep that in mind. They only manage to convince those manufacturer to supply to them.(if you're the manufacturer and got business, will you reject? Even now, the Blank Keycaps set that were sold by Keycool has the same packaging with the one that i'm giving out as a free bundle for user made purchase of the Leopold Keyboard, which were later confirmed by my source that Keycool has also gotten most of parts supplier contact information.)

Leopold is currently taking this problems very seriously, They have planned to manufacture most part on their own to prevent Keycool from sabotaging their business.(you can see their keycaps now =D )
*
Not only the fullset blank keys, but also all those colored keycaps and RGB Ctrl, Alt and Shift carried Leopold and EliteKeyboard. They are having exactly the same molding mark, which certainly came from same machine.
But to the extend that using exactly the same USB wire is a little... Too over? doh.gif
hmm, wait for the good news then, haha.

If numpad is a must for you, then it should be the only option. If isn't, you better add few more(around RM30-40) and get CM Storm.

IMO back lit is also a distractions if your screen is close to the keyboard.....
even wordings are somehow distracting, I think that's why Topre has black on dark gray keycaps on dark gray keyboard.

And btw, cyclone, how are the enquiries? are you able to get those Realforce "Silent" and color keycaps or not?
you have to let me know the full price earlier, I can't spare that much money on short notice......
*
Actually, it is because we can't possibly having "black on black" dye sub keycaps... sweat.gif It is practically invisible, IOW still black...
The rule of dye-sub is the printing/legend must be darker than the keycaps.

There is a thread in GH which made it. If different then find similar board and PS/paint/edit them to the one you like.

Do note that when discussing about keycaps, we will want a long lasting legends(printings/fonts) and also texture. As you use your keyboard, both legends and textures will be worn out day by day.

The one which preserve its texture long are PBT and POM.
The one which preserve its printing/fonts long are dye-sub(only compatible on PBT) and double shot(only compatible on ABS).

Do note that all those stuffs I mentioned above are not normally bundled together with the keyboards in the market right out of box, because it will incur extra cost(thus lower profits). Normally you need to get them separately as aftermart accessories or so on.

Extra: Those stuffs I mentioned above are also not backlit compatible. Currently the most durable backlit keycaps are probably the doube-shot PBT made by DECK(TG3).

EDITED:

My bad, Deck's keycaps are actually dye-subed... sweat.gif sweat.gif

http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:13873
The keycaps are two-piece but the legends aren't part of that. The legends are dye-sublimated, leaving the area in the center of the keys free of the dye so light can still pass through. All keys on the board are of this style except for the space bar. The spacebar is made of PBT with two circle of the transulcent material to allow light through. The legends are very sharp and you cannot feel an edge to any of the characters. The ways the keycaps are made means finding replacements is hard to say the least, but the quality of them means that won't be a problem for quite a while.

Hmm, I guess it is similar to the G2 Pro/G3, using a new chasis and some refinement. Don't think it will be different color lighting, the one in picture probably just some individual LED swap.
