you are right, the enter are different weight already,
I think maybe will find all different weight if I test all keys  sweat.gif

is that because  of my scale are broken or the standard of Malaysia 1 cents are non standard?
also the possibility of the dome are different weight @@ rclxub.gif

@kaysa - I like your experiments with Malaysian 1 sen coins - makes it more local smile.gif

Not sure if you have already read this thread: http://goo.gl/35zel

To cut a long story short, there is a theory that the rubber domes stiffen over time... like bicycle tyres. If true, this is not good news for owners of Topre switch keyboards. cry.gif

Nice stuff you have there. The one more commonly found is the Goldtouch, which having the weird 00 keys... sweat.gif
*
@Human10 - Yeah, that was exactly the reason why I didn't get a Goldtouch. I knew that the 00 key would drive me insane. This Kinesis numpad is what I consider a standard layout. It has also got independent Num Lock function, which was a big deal for me when I was using the Model M SSK. Not many USB numeric keypads on the market have independent Num Lock.

Ya I read that article before, but this 2nd hand HHKB I got is from 2006, which is 6 years ago.
IMO the stiffening is not as much as the one that they experimenting....
but I haven't try all keys yet, so can't be sure of that, and my scale are not the professional one,
that might not be accurate, just wait till I get something more accurate and test it out.
The A key and Fn key are most often used key in that post's opinion, but the A key on mine are not that much different,
if it is a 55g 6 years ago..... but if it is a 45g 6 years ago, then it has a 11gms different in between 6 years.

all in all, that the 1cents might not be accurate as well as the scale might not be accurate too.
We do not have a conclusion yet.

But another variant of the kinesis/goldtouch(named "generic" keypad from a HK ebay seller) are even a better choice, it is having a Space key on the keypad, TROLOL. thumbup.gif

Actually, as long as there isn't any physical damage or burned controller or matrix, mechanical should be easily fix/repairable.

Mech KB with integrated arm rest is rare(wait for Ducky Shining's Wristrest may be?).

Have a check if CM Storm Trigger fit your taste then.

interested on ducky dk1008(no backlight, marco or whatsoever), great kb come with a cheap price. but the arm rest is kinda "external" right..
many complain that black needs more force than red/brown in order to register the key, will pay a visit to a shop and try either black is suit me, if it does, hehe... more choices to make brows.gif

The wristrest I stated in previous post is a intergrated wrist rest like SS7G style, ask Storm88 for details, as that is what we heard so far.

If you want cheaper options, taobao having much more choices.

Undeniable, hands on experience is the most important factor than all technical specifications and so on, good luck in your search.

Tried using a mechanical keyboard , and I have to sat it's definitely different. So I was thinking of getting one. Any recommendation for the budget ones? Would there be any noticeable different between the cheap and expensive ones? Don't need any extra buttons or macro whatsoever, just a plain keyboard is nice.
