QUOTE(sws @ Jun 12 2012, 01:54 PM) would like to ask For those R4(tallest) key, may be you can grip it tightly and try to pull it off vertically.any other method to pull of the key on a razer black widow expert keyboard except using the key puller? anyone had experience in changing the LED on the keyboard? For those lower keys, apart from key puller, I think only fingernails(exceeding 1cm one) can help. Though, do note that it is easy to scratch the keys in these ways though(but BWE isn't coated, so properly won't be harmed). |

Just hope they can have better quality control. |

QUOTE(mcblade @ Jun 12 2012, 04:20 PM) Most options need to be "import" from China(taobao).Brands like Keycool, HPE and PLU should fit your need well. They cost around RM160+ depend on the switches type and probably around another RM10/20 for shipping to your home. If you still seek for local availability(for the sake of warranty?), you should go for CM Storm Quickfire Rapid, which is around RM240 in garage sale. |

QUOTE(mcblade @ Jun 12 2012, 07:51 PM) Hi, Erm, you still need an agent. Go search around in services sub-forum, there are plenty of them.Do I need to go through local taobao agent or can I just register and purchase then they courier to me? sorry this seems like out of topic or shall I pm you Thanks! Some discussion is ok, as long as it is not too lengthy or directly promoting of sales. |

QUOTE(terradune @ Jun 11 2012, 10:49 PM) I'm interested! Do tell me more, am looking to get my first mech kb soon and want to get it absolutely right, don't have money to experiment with several different keyboards. How good the cherry stabilizers feels depends a lot of how good the lubrication is in the switches.Have done my research but everytime I think I've pinned my specs down someone surprises me with something I didn't know, lol. If you don't mind, could you look at my post (here) and rec me some mech keyboards? Older cherry stabilizers has different metal make, and probably plastic thus the combination of that together with the cherry stabilizers feels really nice, especially on the linear switches. No wobble and other noise. Which is probably engineered together and thus perfect. However, with cost cutting, lower grade of metal is used for the contact leave, and probably due to effect of the plastic molding, the switches are not as smooth. They feel a bit gritty to some extent. And somehow this affects the feeling when used together with cherry stabilizers. For vintage cherry switches, the combination together with cherry stabilizers is the best. For modern switches, you'd have better luck with the Wire stabilizer. Or, you could lube your own switches and use it with the cherry stabs, with good feeling. I don't know what's the deal it is with the clicky type switches and these stabilizers but they are awful. Probably the worse combination of switch and stabilizers. And it's being used on my 'The Cheat' keyboard. Love the keyboard, hate the switch combination. Probably gonna do a swap of the switches in the future. |
