from my personal penny wise point of view.

genuine leather lasts me very long. Not that 'genuine leather' stamp.
its got to be the real thing. It lasts for years of wear and tear. I use a country hide side pouch. After 4 years, the zipper finally gave away. but a repair only cost me around rm20.

my lumberjacks is still new. so no comment.

Quality? As in leather that last longer? Then get any decent leather wallet should be ok. None of the above will last longer then the other.

There is hard leather, soft leather, and
those that shines and those that don't

soft leather is more comfortable in a pocket, but hard leather looks classy cause it retains its nice square shape. smooth or shiny types don't catch dirt easily. if its too shiny, you might look nerdy too.

good luck in finding one that suits you.

It's simple.

If you want branded with good leather then braun buffel or mont blanc.

others will be just paying for the brand.

yup totally agree. you are just buying gucci, burberry, lv, ferragamo for the looks and branding only. durability, they suck. none of my wallets last more than a year. don't ask me how i use them. i have no idea myself.

for long lasting, i would opt for buffel or mont blanc but i think most mont blanc comes in hard leather which i don't really fancy. buffel is really value for money!

Not really.. I have a mont blanc that is as soft as any of the above brand u mention and its cheap as well only about RM1.4k, cheaper then LV blah blah for sure.

As for braun buffel quality or brand image.... i really dont know why braun buffel is considered "branded/luxury" brand... i think only in Msia people buy the brand.. even in germany its not as wide spread (or people hardly know about it, I know my german colleague havent heard of it).

well bro, i mentioned most, but not all mont blanc i came across are hard leather. haha icon_rolleyes.gif

actually, i am really curious. in general, how do we differentiate branded/luxury branded goods from non branded and luxury ones? is there a pricing base that one brand should conform in order to be branded luxury?

Braun Buffel is good. I've used 2 Braun Buffel wallets and it last me so long! Current one has lasted 4 years so far, no damages.

Gucci, Burberry all paying for brand only. They specialty isn't leather-goods.

serve me for 2 years and looks brand new.

the good thing about long wallet is:
1) you wont sit on your wallet so it'll look new
2) your notes will always be straight. Haha.
3) more card slots.

bad thing is sometimes you'll get annoyed cos its big.

Definitely no Gucci. I don't know what others think about Burberry. I'm using mine and entering the third year, as good as new. I don't place my wallet at the back pocket and "sit" on it.
