ISP/package: Astro Byond IPTV Bundle
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes, called Time, but they could/will not provide the modem configuration
Modem: Huawei hg850a
Router: Cisco E1000
Firewall used: None
First occurence of problem: N/A
Problem frequency: N/A
Problem description: N/A
This is not exactly a "problem". All my services are running perfectly.
I have signed up for Astro Byong IPTV Superpack with 6Mbps and my IPTV and Broadband services are working OK. The fibre connects to the Huawei EchoLife HG850A modem, that connects to the set top box and the Cisco E1000 switch/router.
The Huawei Modem comes with two phone ports (Tel 1 and Tel 2) that can connect to two SIP accounts (works like a 2 port ATA). Astro/Time did not provide me with the Modem username/password so I'm not sure how to change the configuration.
I want to configure the phone ports to two different SIP accounts so I can make cheap phone calls.
Called up Time first and they said to talk to Astro. Astro guy said that he will raise the issue with Time and both were unable to give me access details to the modem so I can configure the SIP accounts myself.
Does anyone know how to configure this Huawei HG850a ONU device?
I have tried to get the IP address of the modem, but it seems that the modem connects in bridge mode. So from my Cisco IP the next hop is some location in Time. If I try to connect to my own public IP, that actually connects to the Cisco and not the Huawei Modem.
Any suggestions will be great.
