Curious about proton wira auto, is the FC really that bad? 20 sen per KM ?? or more?
different so much with manual? auto is 4-speed right? i heard 3-speed before, is there 3 or 4?
if around year 2001~2007, around how much it worth now?
if someone owned or know more about this, please share with me, thank you so much !
(talking about 1.5 cc )

wira 1.5 auto is 3 speed only. only wira 1.6 is 4 speed but the wira 4speed auto gearbox is prone to failure while the 3 speed is pretty sturdy.

(talking about 1.5 cc ) 20sen/km is around 10km/L. 10km/L is considered normal/slightly-better-than-average.. there are some wiras getting only 7 to 8km/l.

3 gear are suited on city drive where the last gear will push to 3.5k rpm for speed up to 90kmph
plus the sound seem harsh compared to my sunny 130y, it ~2.9rpm @ 110kmph
the effieciency is 8-9L/100km or ~16 sen per km

I think has no big concern as car value very cheap only for used wira. Let say u bought at RM18k with 20cent/km is consider very cheap compare to u buy a new car worth RM75k with 15cent/km fc.

Mine does 8.1-8.5L/100KM. 1.5 with 3 speed gearbox. If you maintain the car well with well-controlled foot, FC is not an issue.
In case you're not sure what are those 8.5L/100KM is relative to, the Persona at my home does 7.8-8.2L/100KM with similar driving pattern.

Is there any saying about manual last longer or not ?? The 3 speed auto gearbox is really hard like a brick. It doesn't give up no matter how you trash it. The 4-speed model is however more delicate. Manual has wear and tear parts as well, such as clutch. Highly dependant on driving style.

last tiem drive wira mivec auto 1.6. full tank rm70 can get 420km on average, personal best 450km. btw, the gearbox really prone to failure. while it is the same as the common 4G92 1.6 engine, so expect all 4 speeder also act the same. oh ya, some even said perdana using the same gearbox as well lolol.
during ownership changed 3 gearboxes. the third one i put ATF oil cooler and it last longest until i sold my car. so guys, ATF oil cooler is very very important

I heard my friend pump also about that amount. Maybe some one with 1.5 Wira can clarify. if want to buy 2nd hand p.wira ..... maybe base on ur luck la.
but, for my 11 yrs old p.wira 1.5 (a) ... the FC still maintain at average 12km/L, with daily travel in bad traffic along federal h/way.
P.wira FC not bad, but most of the owner didn't take care of their car.

My Wira 1.5(A) GLi, 1999 car can do 250km to 280km max on full tank, normal driving on city roads. Translates to about 7km/litre. Sigh. Highway not yet try, should be more economical on highway, right?
